I just moved to a new home in the Pittsburgh PA area. It was built in 1930 and renovated in the mid-1980s.
The new modern RG6 coax is along the outside of the house. But there is also dual RG59 coax. The presumably abandoned run comes down from the pole into the basement. Then a few runs from the basement go to different rooms. Since it's inside the walls, I'm assuming it was added during the 80s renovation. But why dual coax? I thought this was an old satellite thing. Did Comcast use it at some point for more bandwidth or something?
I found this splitter nearby, dual 2-way whatever that means. 500Mhz, lol. Assuming this is mid 80s as well
