Months ago, I made enough noise and got some help from Gino in the direct forum and managed to get a friend’s entire building retrenched and refed due to high outbound power issues.
Afterward, the numbers were no better, although reliability was improved. He decided to try an Xfinity Gateway for a month instead of the SB 6183 that reps at tier one kept refusing to support.
The numbers, posted below, are worse with the Xfinity gateway, and are marginally (1.5 or so) better bypassing the splitter. I’d actually like to move the modem away from an outside wall so would need to further weaken the signal with an additional splitter.
Any advice before going into battle?
Deleted the photo because the serial number of the gateway was visible, but the upstream power numbers were: 52.8 dBmV 52.5, 51.3 and 51.5.
