I was looking to bump my speed a little and possibly save a $ or two. Comcast disappointed me.
I have internet only and no need for TV or Phone, currently on the 100Mbps plan. When I login and try and select a internet only plan the landing page says "We don’t have anything quite like that, but you might be interested in these similar offers available in your neighborhood" and offers me plans with TV and phone. The price is of course much higher - even before the equipment rental and local broadcast and sports fees- than I am currently paying. The fastest offered is 600Mbps.
If however I come in as a new customer, it give me all kinds of options for internet only and speeds up to 1Gbps, and of course the cost is a lot less.
I really don't want to play the "new customer" game but they are really leaving me little choice. While a call to retentions may give a good deal, why should a customer have to beg and threaten just to remain a satisfied customer? I do have a unused modem so the new customer shuffle would not be a issue.
