Had the 50 service, it was bumped to 105.
The 105 is now bumped to 150, and I confirmed with Comcast online that my modem was functioning and had received the upgrade.
Upload speeds went from 5-7 to 22mbps. So this showed me something had absolutely changed.
But my download speeds went from 115-ish to 135, max. And that is where they remain.
Comcast sent out a truck today to check it out. They swapped out my modem for another one with a more recent build date (???).
From the drop at the house it goes into a single 2-way splitter outside, then we eliminated everything so it was 1 splitter to the modem to Cat6 to my laptops gigabit port. 135 max. Different computer, 135mbps max. Add in my router, Cat5 cabling...135mbps.
Is 135mbps some strange theoretical peak limit on 10/100 networking or something? I'm scratching my head at this one. Could the splitter outside be suspect? It's a 2 way.
Suggestions?
