I have a service call scheduled for Monday morning, but the problem appears to be intermittent, but persistent, so I would like to call on the wisdom of the folks in this group to help me better communicate with the technician when he/she show up.
We have had very heavy rains here in central Virginia for 3 days earlier in the week, so I suppose this could possible be part of the problem. Anyway, I returned home yesterday afternoon to find my internet connection so slow as to be unusable. I did do a speedtest off the Comcast site and got download speed of 100MB, but upload speed of .14MB.
My cable modem shows all sorts of errors in the system log. I am getting consistent T3 and T4 timeouts with messages saying something like "unable to recover from MTA error." I don't have the exact verbiage since my modem won't let me log in to it right now and I don't want to reboot it. Right now, the problem seems less consistent, but I am still getting plenty of web pages that refuse to load saying that the server is unavailable.
I sent a message to my neighborhood Yahoo group yesterday and 4 people replied back that they were having the same problem, so I'm pretty sure it's not just me.
Are there any specifics I should tell the Comcast tech. and things I should make sure her or she does during my upcoming service call? Thanks in advance for any help you all can provide.
