I had a 3way splitter previously with the CM on a 7db leg (because at one point in the summer the downstream was so high that it was losing sync (Comcast tech put the splitter in))
ok well now the Forward Path Attenuators that were linked in another thread arrived and here are the results
quote:with the 3 way
# Channel 1 Channel 2 Channel 3 Channel 4
DS [-3.24826] [-3.13608] [-3.120058] [-3.4075]
SNR [38.257755] [37.935909] [38.257755] [38.257755]
US [41.75] [-1] [41.75] [40.25]
quote:with a 3db Forward Path Attenuator
# Channel 1 Channel 2 Channel 3 Channel 4
DS [0.192566] [0.695838] [0.689135] [0.200172]
SNR [38.257755] [38.257755] [38.605377] [38.257755]
US [35.75] [-1] [35.75] [33.75]
so as you can see the splitter does effect the upstream and the Forward Path Attenuator does not (or atleast much less)
I think I might move the attenuator to the attic or to the GB
here's a link to what I ordered

I used the 6db then the 3db as I wanted to see if I could get the downstream nailed to 0, come summer I will re-review and maybe switch to the 6db
