I just signed up for a triple play promotion that required me to get a new SMC modem to replace my Ubee. Getting everything working properly was challenging, but everything seems to be working now. I do, however, see some interesting error messages that have me concerned.
Every 50 minutes, almost to the second, I get the following pair of messages that show up in the modem's event log:
"CMS LOC Cleared 2013/06/20 15:57:07 Warning
MTA HW/SW Failure Cleared 2013/06/20 15:57:06 Warning
CMS LOC Cleared 2013/06/20 15:07:06 Warning
MTA HW/SW Failure Cleared 2013/06/20 15:07:06 Warning."
I also am seeing the following critical error message in my system log. The odd thing is that I only see one message in the "today" filter, but each time I check the log, the date-time stamp on the message has changed.
"Received Response to Broadcast Maintenance Request, But no Unicast Maintenance opportunities received - T4 time out;CM-MAC=c4:39:3a:45:41:70;CMTS-MAC=00:01:5c:31:8a:41;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0; 2013/06/20 17:00:43 critical"
My download and upload speeds seem within specifications for the service I am supposed to get, and my upstream/downstream signal levels are within 1 dB of what the Ubee was showing. The upload signal levels are a little higher than the Ubee and the download levels are a little bit lower.
The modem upstream/downstream information is posted below. My question is do I have anything to worry about or does everything look pretty normal for a SMCD3GNV modem? Thanks in advance for any advice the experts on this forum can provid.
