[Connectivity] Anyone know a fix?

I bought an SB6120. I'm kicking myself for not doing some research first but I never had any problems with the SB5120 or SB5101. I bought it because the SB6120-Retail is on the Comcast approved devices list. I know this is a 2 or 3 year old problem, but I've searched the net and can't find a solution. It's been posted many times. The Power, Receive, and Send lights are solid green but the Online flashes about 150 times then the modem resets. I called Comcast and they can see it but only suggest sending a tech out. I've tried: hooking it up to 1, 2, and 3 splitters, Hooking it up to an amplifier, Resetting to defaults and restarted, Leaving it hooked up for 48 hours. The only fix I found is "put a DOCSIS 1.0 config file on the unprovisioned modem, which it will accept and not crash with, which then allows a firmware upgrade to the modem. After that firmware upgrade, the modem will work fine." Unfortunately, only the ISP can do this. I posted on ComcastDirect but ComcastSteve is no longer available to fix these. Anyone know a solution?
