I'm currently traveling and staying at an apartment where I'm able to pick up an xfinity wifi signal. The signal is very strong (must be coming from a direct neighbor) so I logged on with my Comcast credentials. I noticed that web browsing is fine and speed tests show 15 down. However, streaming video is laggy and doing any uploads/downloads via FTP or regular downloads through any web browser is extremely slow or fails.
Since web browsing and speed tests are fine, but everything else is completely unreliable, my question is whether Comcast may be purposefully throttling certain tasks while connected to xfinity hotspots.
