Comcast sent an account to a collection agency Enhanced Revovery Company, LLC https://www.erccollections.com/ of Jacksonville, FL under my SS#. The account ID given by Comcast to ERC is for a strange person with a different name, and for an address I never lived at. It has a phone number not in my area code and this account has a completely a different SS# than my SS#. I have been getting the runaround from both Comcast and ERC. I have gone into the local Comcast office to prove my ID. and with a copy of this Comcast collection on my credit report. This false collection mark has dropped my perfect credit score and perfect 30+ year credit history by 40 points. ERC told me that Comcast directly gave ERC the Comcast account number in question. My SS# and this other person's SS# are not even close. Is there collusion between Comcast and ERC to extort money from innocent victims? I do not even have a Comcast account! Comcast rep. Naketa Powers has refused to correct this criminal situation and will not answer why my SS# was given by Comcast for a collection on a strangers account? I will never recommend doing any business with Comcast. I have spend over 25 hours on the phone, e-mail, and at the local Comcast office and with ERC trying to fix this. I spent hours on hold, transferred, hung up on by Comcast. I have been called all sorts of nasty names, hung up on and told to just pay the bill by ERC. ECR is the collection agency was hired by Comcast for this action. Comcast is primarily responsible! I have now contacted the FBI and the Better Business Bureau in Florida to investigate both Comcast and ERC for criminal wrongdoing. Enough is enough!!!
