This morning I had a Comcast appointment to have HSI installed at my house, sadly within minutes of the tech arriving he explained I was unserviceable due to the distance from the end of the line (the line terminates in my neighbors yard, to run the line from that pole, to the next pole, and then to my house is approximately 550', running direct to my house from that pole would be about 350').
I am just curious as to what Comcast would need to do in order to be able to service my house. I understand that the longer the transmission line, the more the signal degrades, but, that's about the extent of my knowledge. I am hopeful that one day they invest some in this area, as it would be nice to have options other than satellite or 1.5MB DSL!!
