We did a CC upgrade last week - and everything was working fine. Today - my husband noticed a considerable drop in speed on his computer (which is working through a WiFi connection). Another WiFi computer in his home office has the same issues. He's also had some connectivity issues with his Kindle WiFi - and I've had some issues with a Roku stick in our kitchen. My wired LAN on my computer is working fine.
At first I was thinking that the issues might be related to our recent upgrade - but now I'm not so sure. After trouble shooting with a CC rep who seemed very competent today - I'm inclined to think our old faithful Arris rental modem - which we've had for at least 3-4 years now - is simply dying of old age (apparently one of the signs of "old age" is weaker WiFi signals).
In all of my troubleshooting - and the troubleshooting I did with the tech today - well all I've noticed is that the "WiFi" box on the modem which used to blink isn't blinking now. And that the farther away devices are from the modem - the worse they are working.
Anyway - I ordered a new modem today. Should be arriving in 3-5 days. Should I be doing anything else? Robyn
