I had my Comcast service installed Friday. I had to change the IPs of the PCs. That wasn't a problem because the PCs are set for DHCP but the printers were static. I changed the two Lan printers to the new 10.x.x.x network and instead of creating a new printer (the fax and scan never install this way) I dnloaded a tool called nettool from the Brother website. I used it on one PC then the other that had the Brother software on the All in One running. I thought it changed the IP addresses in the printer setup but after a reboot, all of a sudden I can't obtain a DHCP from the router on BOTH the machines. If I install a static IP the PCs work but with DHCP they fail to obtain a IP.
I thought I would leave it like that but tonight a gaming PC that I haven't run in over 3 weeks and last ran on a 192 address also can't obtain a IP on this Comcast network. I am baffled. I put a static IP and it surfs!!! My ipad, iphone, and laptop PCs obtain IPs and run just fine.
Any ideas anyone on what is going on here.
