I've heard a lot of you saying that buying is better. And - especially in light of this -

I think I should reconsider my options (in case my tech visit tomorrow doesn't turn out well - I'm not holding my breath).
I need a modem and wireless router that will support both > 100 mpbs internet connections and voice. And a lot of wireless too. Apparently - I can get a modem that supports wired internet and voice (like the Arris TM722g) - and then get a wireless router as well to deal with wireless devices. I'm not adverse to an "all in one" gateway either - but most people don't seem to like them.
Anyway - I know a lot of you guys (and most of you are guys - apologies to any of you women out there) are 30 - 40 years younger than I am. So what would be your dream system be in terms of hooking up 4 computers and 2 internet TVs - and a few Roku boxes and a new Amazon "fire TV stick"? And what would be second place - not your ideal - but perhaps the most cost effective?
I give extra points for a modem/router combo made by the same company (I hate it when companies are pointing fingers at one another when a system doesn't work).
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me, Robyn
P.S. To mods - I searched - perhaps incorrectly - and there doesn't seem to be a current thread about this (last one I found was from 2008). Don't want to screw up posting new threads.
