More than a year ago I moved and called sometime after to change the address even though the internet worked. The address never changed so I didn't call again. At the end of the promo period I called to cancel or get a lower rate and they offered a deal which I took and informed them my address has changed since they were shipping me a cable box. They didn't change the address again and shipped the equipment to the wrong address. They called me sometime later and I told them I did not receive the equipment and that it got shipped to the previous address I had. I continued to get internet on the expired promo after and this past December I noticed a service request was in place - they disconnected my service that I paid for. I called and they told me it was disconnected because the address is not serviceable even though I had service here for more than a year. Turns out that the woman who lived here before had an unpaid balance and they blacklisted the address. And I was told that I would have to go to a local office and show ID and a copy of the lease - like that's ever going to happen.
Right now I have an outstanding balance of close to $70 for service I haven't used in nearly a month and equipment I don't have. Right now there is another service request scheduled for the 7th - I called to cancel service altogether days before and they had the nerve to tell me to return their equipment.
So please, cable is not a necessity, so if you cant afford it, don't get it - there are much more vital things to spend money on if you're broke.
