i have a friend with a dynamic business internet connection with the device in bridge mode (comcast confirmed this). however, when i plug the comcast gateway into the WAN/Internet port of the router (netgear) it never grabs a WAN IP. i have rebooted the comcast device several times. i have rebooted the netgear router several times.
the only way i can get it to work is if i enable DHCP on the comcast gateway, the netgear will get a 10.1.10.x ip address on the WAN/Internet port and everything works, but then the network is behind a double NAT. i don't want to open ports two times.
at home i have comcast residential, in bridge mode, and my router grabs a WAN IP w/o any issues.
the next thing i am going to try is to bring another router to his shop and see if the issue is his current router acting up...not sure what else i could be.
