I have what I feel is not a well Comcast connection.
Channel 2 is marginal at best - if my modem bonds with channel 1 SNR is 27 dB and basically my internet connection is down.
This started about 6 weeks ago when my Blast speeds were upgraded to 25 Mbps from 16 Mbps - before that signal levels were great and connection had been reliable and consistent for one year since installation.
I have a new installation (1 year ago) by a Comcast tech - direct from the street and with only my modem connected.
After some (Comcast initiated) modem resets when channel 1 was bonded my family lost internet connection while I was travelling a few weeks ago.
Two weeks ago I had a Comcast tech come out and check signal levels - he said everything was fine...... but he would run a local Network check - I assume to check if there were issues with channels 1 & 2.
Unfortunately it is not - if I reboot the modem most of the time Channel 1 is bonded and my connection is broken - if I get channel 2 in the mix I think I am marginal.
I have tried posting in the Direct forum - but of course there is no answer.
I have tried leaving messages for the Comcast tech who came out - but he doesn't reply.....(or say whether he was able to get a local Network check run)
I have tried using Comcast online and phone support - but they run a line check and say everything is working fine - not!
So Comcast - or anyone else - what do I do next?
For 11 months Comcast exceeded my expectations with totally reliable connection and consistent speeds - but for the last 6 weeks pretty much every interaction with them has been disappointing............
