[Tier] Gigabit Plan In Chicago Suburbs Includes Unlimited Data

With all the talk of the data caps here I wanted to give this little tidbit of information to everyone. I am in the Chicago suburbs and just upgraded to the Gigabit plan because it included unlimited data at the $139.99 price. I recently cut the cord and started downloading more video, I went over the 1TB cap so went into the Comcast store to return my old X1 box and to add the unlimited data plan to the Extreme 300 tier. At first the rep told me that unlimited data might already be included with my Extreme 300 plan as some areas in our area are covered with the promotion. Unfortunately, I was not in the area for the free unlimited data option but they were running a special for unlimited data for $25 a month. I was about to accept the $95 (Extreme 300) + $25 = $120 a month when the rep said that only the Gigabit plan came with unlimited data. So I asked, "so, for $20 more a month I can triple my speed and have unlimited data?" Getting a yes, I figured it was the best plan for me. While the price is not on the low end, I will still be paying less than I was with my TV package added and I can now start doing some real backups to the cloud of my system without worrying that I'd be constantly over a data cap. One last note, there was no contract needed for the unlimited data with the Gigabit plan. As Comcast has different plans in different areas, your mileage may vary. It never hurts to call (or stop in) and ask.
