As mentioned in this recent DSLR news item https://www.dslreports.com/shownews/Comcast-Prepares-For-Mid2017-Wireless-Service-Launch-139048 , Comcast is planning a mid-year launch of their wireless service.
Comcast announced today that they will be providing the details on this new service on Thursday:
Comcast to Host Analyst Event to Discuss Launch of Mobile Initiative
Comcast press release, Business Wire - April 3, 2017

Senior members of the Comcast leadership team will participate in the event. ...There is also this FierceCable article today about it:
Comcast sets Thursday meeting with investors to discuss wireless launch
By Daniel Frankel, FierceCable - April 3, 2017
http://www.fiercecable.com/cable/comcast-sets-thursday-meeting-investors-to-discuss-wireless-launchquote:Some of the telecom industry’s most closely guarded secrets could finally be revealed Thursday, when Comcast hosts what it calls an “analyst event to discuss the details of its previously announced mobile initiative.”
:
Comcast confirmed plans to launch a wireless service combining the strengths of its vast Wi-Fi network and its MVNO deal with Verizon back in September. The launch has been slated for sometime later this year.
:
Last week, FierceWireless reported that Comcast is quietly partnering with Apple as it prepares to launch wireless service under the brand Xfinity Mobile: http://www.fiercewireless.com/wireless/comcast-quietly-taps-iphone-ahead-launch-xfinity-mobile
The cable giant’s name has been added to behind-the-scenes - but publicly available - code that lists carrier bundles for the iPhone. The list of carrier bundles is used by iTunes and iPhones to determine whether the iPhone’s SIM is supported by a service provider with whom Apple has an agreement, then provisions the phone accordingly.
The iPhone's latest list of carrier bundles includes "Verizon_Comcast_LTE_US," and mentions the service "Xfinity Mobile." A source pointed out the reference to FierceWireless, and a different source with knowledge of the matter confirmed that Comcast has indeed partnered with Apple ahead of the launch of Xfinity Mobile. How to enable MoCA on Arris SVG2482AC telephony gateway
This modem is sold to Xfinity customers with MoCA disabled and removed from the user interface, as it can interfere with X1 devices in the home. Comcast tech could not tell me how to enable MoCA on the device, and Arris support was of no help. However, almost by accident, I found the "missing" page that allowed me to get MoCA up and running. After logging into the modem, the page can be found at 10.0.0.1/moca.php

Disconnected internet
So today I cancelled my account and now they have scheduled a truck roll to my house to put a trap on my line.
Do they actually still do this sense its all addressed thru the system. I find it hard to believe they would do that.
I was told if I wanted to come back it would have to be a truck roll for a pro, install ..

[Business] How Long For a Contract Renewal Speed Upgrade To Kick In?
I renewed our Business High-Speed Internet contract early Wednesday afternoon. It still hasn't taken effect. In the past such things happened pretty much instantly--or at least over night. So how long do these things usually take, these days?

Lighting/outlet issues after xfinity did cleanup in outside box
So I had xfinity out for a service call for TV no signal. They came and changed wall to TV cable and outlet. Also they did cleanup and "organizing" of cables outside at box attached to house wall. I briefly looked that day and they had replaced splitter and bundled all cables and tied them inside the box. They also did put something that will avoid issues at neighbors house of I was having noise or signal issue.
Fine. Cable came up and everything was writing okay. I go to my year old finished basement and few outlets and lights start flickering and then went off. These outlets and lights are connected to about 4 circuit breakers. I turn off and on circuit breakers and everything was fine. Went back again in evening and same thing happened. Only this time breakers weren't tripped. I tried resetting breakers but lights and outlets didn't came back on. First I thought it was my treadmill motor but that's not the case. Treadmill had been unplugged. Even GFCI outlets are having same issue. This has been going for about two weeks now and I'm not sure if it was just coincidence or can cable box reorganizing caused this issue. Can it interfere with my circuit pane/breakers? Upstairs lighting and outlets are all fine.
If this helps, There were two cables that I had basement guy run from inside to outside for future use but there's no devices connected to those outlet. They were hanging outside before xfinity came. Could xfinity guys have tied that in weird way that's now causing these issues.
I'm sorry if this is not the right forum but sudden issues with breakers coincide with the xfinity guys organizing called in and outside of my home. I'm going to talk to electrician too but thought I'd put this out here if anyone has any ideas or thoughts. Thank you!

[Equip] New XB7? Technicolor CGM4331COM - Wireless AX(Wi-Fi 6)
Looks like a new Comcast gateway passed through testing. No idea if it's going to be called the XB6 still, probably XB7 or something. Model number seems to be CGM4331COM. The test report mentions that it has 802.11ax. Looks like this unit may only have 4 antennas(4x4 AX on both bands). The current XB6 are a 2x2 N 2.4 GHz + 8x8 AC 5 GHz design(I believe it has a total of 12 antennas as a result).
See -
https://fcc.io/G95/4331X
Submitted shortly before it, are two other Technicolor devices called the XHR1-TC and the XHU1-TC. The XHU1-TC might be something like the current XB6 power supply, but upgraded? Its description is listed as "LTE power supply." The XHR1-TC is listed as a Zigbee repeater.
No idea if this will have a fan, but the label does say 12V/4.6A, so 55.2 watts, so I guess it will. The original Technicolor XB6(CGM4140COM) had a 60 watt power supply.
Edit: Changed title to reflect XB7

[NodePlus0] Plant Work (New Fiber) In Ypsilanti & Ypsilanti Township [MI]?
Greetings,
I have noticed a lot of aerial fiber cable installation happening in Ypsilanti and Ypsilanti Township (Michigan) lately, but haven't been able to figure out which company the new cables belong to.
I figure the main options are probably
* Comcast: fiber-deep/N+0 plant rebuild/upgrade
* Verizon: new small cell deployments
* AT&T: FTTH expansion(?)
Do any of you know if Comcast is doing plant upgrade/rebuild work around here?

Netgear CM1100 experience on Xfinity
The CM1100 is now available at Costco and is on the supported list of Xfinity supported modems.
https://www.costco.com/Netgear-Nighthawk-CM1100-DOCSIS-3.1-Cable-Modem.product.100464287.html
I finally got a chance to hook mine up today replacing my Zoom/Motorola MB8600. So far, so good.
Pros over the MB8600 so far:
- Spectrum analyzer mode is available (I missed this on the MB8600, as I had it on my SB6183)
- Additional statistics are available for all of the different types of channels on the Netgear CM1100 vs the Motorola
Cons:
- Web GUI is a bit buggier than the Motorola
- Took longer to enter the walled garden than I am used to, even tried forcing DHCP renew. Took several minutes.
Here are the version numbers on my modem:
Hardware Version 2.02
Firmware Version V2.01.02
Immediately after activating the modem with my laptop, I enabled Ethernet Port Bonding/LACP-IEEE 802.3ad, and connected to my pfSense router. This appears to be working fine. Both IPv4 and IPv6 also appear to be working fine. I'll keep this updated if I have any problems.
I'm going to keep an eye on stability versus the MB8600. My MB8600 was finicky needing frequent reboots (once ever couple of days due to ARP black hole) with LACP disabled and less frequent reboots (once or twice a month) with LACP enabled. This was most likely a compatibility issue with the CMTS (appeared to be an Arris E6000 based on the Cadent MAC).

[Caps] xFi per-device usage does not jive with summary
We average about 500 GB/mo usage in my household. This month, with us only being here 23 days we've used 926 GB. My daughter did just get a new smart TV, so certainly that would account for some spike in usage, but 400+ GB?
The xFi app doesn't jive with what I'm seeing on the profiles nor individual devices. The summary as you can see shows "very high" pegged for the day, but clicking into the devices I can't determine which one it is.
How does Comcast expect us to hold to a 1TB (which IMHO is low) bandwidth cap when their xFi app can't help debug which device it is? Is this a bug or what would cause all the devices (I painfully went through and looked at all of them, which is especially annoying since 'back' takes you to the top of the list every time) to show low usage or only a few spikes of high/very high, while the overall usage shows very high for the entire day?

[NodePlus0] General Discussion of N+0 deployment activity
I would like to start a thread where we can keep track of the areas where Comcast has started deploying N+0 equipment. Earlier this year Comcast started pushing fiber deeper into the neighborhoods around me but close to 10 months after it was strung/buried it is still sitting unspliced and unlit. The comcast plant in my area is an old Adelphia region that is built on a 750MHz architecture so it's due for upgrade but it appears as if comcast is stalling on these upgrades for some reason. Has anyone else noticed any aggressive node splits and/or amplifier reduction in any other markets?

[CDV] XFINITY Connect Text Messaging Feature Discontinued
It seems like based on the play store notes/Comcast website, the text messaging feature of XFINITY Connect is being discontinued on March 24th.
"As we continue to evaluate our product offerings, we decided to end text messaging via the Xfinity Connect Text website and app as of March 24, 2020. At that time, you will no longer be able to send or receive text messages, and all previously received text messages will be deleted. If you wish to save your text conversations, you can download them as CSV files via the Xfinity Connect Text website."

Figured I'd mention this here in case any of you use this, but haven't noticed.

[Speed] Comcast Upload Update?
Alright, so I remember that roughly one year ago, Comcast stated that increased upload speeds were coming in "2017." (https://www.dslreports.com/shownews/Comcast-Promises-Faster-Upstream-Speeds-Next-Year-137992)
I personally don't care if this increase comes in the form of DOCSIS 3.1, Full Duplex DOCSIS 3.1 (which is still undergoing spec to my knowledge - so I expect this is not the most immediate solution), mid, or high split.
Has anyone seen updates on these phantom upload speed increases?
Some more sources:

https://www.dslreports.com/shownews/Comcast-Symmetrical-Cable-Broadband-Coming-in-Next-24-Months-139090
I know the year is not over yet, and it's not like Comcast actually follows through with their time schedules, but it seems like a lot of "upload-to-the-press" to me. Just seeing if anyone has heard something new that I haven't.
