Right now I am getting a solid 35 down/5 up. I currently have Comcast internet only and called to see about adding cable TV to save some money. During the call I found out that I am on the Blast tier and should be receiving 50 down/10 up. I am or was using a Motorola SB6120 modem and a Netgear WNDR3700 router. I even went out today and purchased a Motorola SB6141 router just to make sure that wasn't the problem. It doesn't matter if I test over wireless or connected directly to the modem, it is 35/5. The person I spoke to at Comcast technical support said I should be receiving real world speeds of at least 50/10 and probably a little more. I was previously on the Performance tier and quite frankly, never gave permission to be upgraded to Blast tier. He transferred me to billing so I could find out exaclty when I was upgraded and she informed me that it was November of 2012 and then proceeded to tell me that the tech support person was misinformed and even though I was on the 50/10 tier, that 35 mbps download speed was considered by Comcast to be acceptable. Well, if I am paying for 50/10, that's not acceptable to me. They resent signal several times but no change. I have a tech visit scheduled for January 8th but wondered if anyone had any thoughts in the meantime.
