Not that I'm complaining...I am in the Exeter, NH market, have been on 20 now 25/5 tier for internet only, dropped TV for Aereo and streaming last May. Have a Docsis 3.0 modem. I've never gotten over 10 mb DL, ever, although a tech insists that at my modem I'm getting the advertised speed. He claimed that it was because I was on a wireless network that it was slow. I added a Netgear wireless extender to see if it would improve things downstairs- it did not. Aereo speeds have never been above 5 mb, and according to them that's high enough for high quality video.
Suddenly, as of yesterday, I am getting 18 DL, Aereo speeds are up to 12 mb so far (which has never happened), here are before and after speed tests:

Downstream: 24028 Kbps.
The measurement will take upto 2.5 minutes. Please wait.
Checking for traffic shapers:
Upstream: No shaper detected.
Median received rate: 5786 Kbps.
Downstream: No shaper detected.
Median received rate: 23370 Kbps.
The other odd thing is the bandwidth usage, going from a bizarre well-over-300gb/200 per month in Sept/Oct/Nov. to *93* in December.
September 303GB
October 346GB
November 276GB
December 93GB
Jan 12, 2013 47 GB
Frightened that I would exceed whatever bandwidth limits they set due to my constant streaming, I did make some changes, like shutting off computer and unplugging Roku overnight and when I'm not here, but it can't have made that big a difference. My watching habits have not changed, I stream everything. My network is secure so I don't think I'm being hacked. I doubt that I will get an intelligible answer if I ask Comcast, but does anyone have a guess as to what suddenly changed (aside from the price which is going up $2)? Could they finally have a conscience about providing what the customer actually pays for? Nah....
