I've been looking into getting Xfinity for some time. Unfortunately, I live too far off the road in my area for Comcast to hook me up without substantial cost to me. I was told that I could save money by self-trenching, but I'm not sure how difficult that is or how long it would take.
They want to do a 726 foot underground trench to install Fiber. I was wondering about renting either a Walk-Behind or a Ride-On Trencher. But I also have no idea how difficult that is, and how long it should take. I've read conflicting answers on how long it takes for either of those.
Did anyone here self-trench, and if so how did you do it? About how long did it take, and what distance did you have to go? I'm fed up with my DSL not being able to provide remotely acceptable speed. But I also want to save some money if I can. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
