Seems like there was an update on the 20th for the app. Since then, the app won't show anything just saying to update to the new version. If you went to the play store, it said no version was available, and the recent update was on the 20th. I waited a couple days, and it still didn't seem to change.
Seems like they removed support for some older versions of android for the app, but for some odd reason they didn't just leave the most recent version compatible(which was from this month or so). When I checked the play store today, it said the most recent version for me was from 2016 with version 1.14.1.6 . I uninstalled it and reinstalled. The version I was running prior to this was 1.58 something from this monthish.
This version of the app doesn't have things like the assistant and such.
