We get 915 down and about 42 up but I pay for 1200. Xfinity has told me over and over at renewals I need to upgrade my modem to something faster because I am wasting my money - so I tried. Retired network engineer here. Retired customer service manager here. So I installed the correct Motorola router and it was slower than the Netgear CM-1000 I have now. What a disaster, the only way to change the modem is using their app, but their app kept listing my modem instead of giving me the chance to change. After the 3rd time I installed and uninstalled their app, I finally got the page to show to change the modem. Took about 1/2 hour to make the change. Then we checked speed and it was lower. Diagnostics online at Xfinity said there was a problem but after 3 days of trying to reach a human I gave up. The modem would not display its web management page and a call to Motorola went on hold for hours. Finally took the modem back. We are on month to month so I thought maybe I might lower the speed so I don't pay for what I don't get. The quotes online were more $$ than what I pay now for 1/2 the speed. What a joke. I promise you that as soon as we find a way to get Internet in this house at a good speed other than Xfinity we are gone. Shame too but their corporate attitude leaves their pockets full of cash and their customers hopelessly frustrated.
