I purchased a Zoom 5341J back in December for my new Comcast HSI account... And everything was great till last month. Since then every weekend (might be in the week too but I'm not home) it drops the connection and cycles through its start up sequence for hour. I call tech support, they can't repair the issue so schedule a house call. About an hour after I get off the phone everything comes back online.
When the tech arrives everything is working fine, so there's nothing to fix.
The final answer I seem to get is to rent the modem from Comcast, which I'd prefer not to do.
When I access the modem setup when its not funcationing its status says Network Access: Denied.
So my question is... Is this an issue with the modem or Comcast?
I've read a lot about IPv4 and v6 and firmware so am wondering if something changed in the last month to cause the connection issues.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
