this current location has out-of-acceptable downstream power; this reading was taken during the middle of a hot day, but nights/cold bring the levels down to -8 to -10dbmv. my limited knowledge would suggest that a downstream amp installed at the modem would raise these levels, but is that an effective method? i will say that this location's tap is directly before/after an amp on the pole, and the path is a buried RG11 -> splitter in ground box, 1 for TVs and 1 directly to the modem (Netgear CG3000DCR). If an add-on amp isn't ideal, what would be?
