[Connectivity] Wired connection slower than wifi?

So I checked the speeds, and my wired connection is slower than my wireless? And, I use a pluglink because the router isn't where my desktop is at, so could that be it? But I highly doubt it. Additional Info: My desktop can't use wifi, because of some issues so I use the wired connection via pluglink
