[Equip] Quick question regarding router throughput

Hey gang! Quick question regarding throughput on a modem. I received confirmation from a Comcast staff member that my plan (Double Play, Performance Tier) would be being doubled, with the likely date being in July. That got me thinking about my router. It's a very serviceable older router which came with my Vonage subscription in 2007. I no longer subscribe to Vonage but still use the router for my network. Here's my question: The router is a Motorola VT2442, and I'd like to know if it will be able to support 50MBps throughput when the speed increases (mine will be going from 25 to 50.) Right now, I regularly speed-test at 27-28 down and 5-6 up. When I am upgraded, I likely should speedtest near the cap of 55-56 down and 10-11 up. On the VT2442, the WAN port is 10/100, and each of the four Ethernet ports are also 10/100. Whenever I search for throughput on this model, the ONLY thread I can find talking about it is a guy saying his hardware limitations look like it can't put out more than 30MBps throughput, but that particular guy's setup has the VT2442 in a network BEHIND an additional router (and in one configuration, behind TWO layers of routers) which, in my limited understanding, can also have a negative effect on the throughput. My setup goes straight from an Arris DOCSIS 3.0 modem into the VT2442. Into that I have my PC, Xbox One, and a wireless router. (I no longer have Vonage, so it's not used for VOIP anymore.) I know, I could just move my wireless router over and use it by itself, but I already have static IPs set up on mobile devices, and Ports Forwarded for my Xbox, with the current configuration, which I'd like to avoid having to redo. So, since all the ports are 10/100, doesn't that indicate I should be getting my full bandwidth when the time comes (all else being equal)? Or is there something with this model that limits the throughput lower than the 100BaseT (10/100) capability? On that note, when I go into the Firmware (which is the upgraded firmware, different than the control panel shown in the VT2442 user manual) there is an Advanced Setup option called Ethernet Switch which lets me determine 10 or 100MBPS, Half or Full duplex. All of my ports are defaulted to Auto, and are correctly detecting 100MBPS Full Duplex, which SHOULD be capable of up to 100MBps simultaneously in both directions. So, is there ANY reason a router would have the option to set the ports to 100 Full Duplex if it can't actually deliver that throughput? Thanks in advance for any input! I'm a tech head, but I may not be the most network savvy, so forgive me if this is nonsensical or something I should already know myself. On a different subject, I've now used the phrase 10/100 so many times, I feel qualified to appear in any remake of Smokey and the Bandit. (I'm just sorry there's not a 10/200 port. :-)
