I just recently switched from wow to Comcast (12/6) and was using the supplied Cisco router/wifi/phone unit and receiving 125Mbps/25Mbps pretty consistently at all hours of the day. I had planned all along to use my own modem/router setup as I wouldn't be using the phone service but it was somehow cheaper to have it added. At any rate, immediately after having my SB6141 activated service dropped to ~90Mbps/3.8Mbps. I just got done with a 3 hour round of phone calls and transfers where the only suggestion anyone could come up with was to send a tech out even though everything was 100% fine prior to activating my own modem.
I've read the other posts about firmware updates for this particular modem but nobody I spoke with a Comcast seemed to have a clue about any of that. Someone, anyone, help? I really don't want to keep paying a rental fee just to get near the speeds I'm already paying for.
