I currently have RCN cable and internet in Somerville, MA. But, I'll be moving to Medford, MA soon. Comcast and Verizon FiOS, are the only cable/internet providers at the new address and I'm having trouble parsing Comcast's prices.
The packages I found were as follows formatted as:
Package Name: Price; Number of channels; Download speed; extras
Preferred SurePrice Double Play: $89.99; 220+; 25 Mbps; $50 Visa® Prepaid Card + HBO® included for 24 months
Digital Starter & Performance Internet: $79.99 ; 140+; 25 Mbps; $50 Visa® Prepaid Card
Blast Plus: $64.99; 45+; 105Mbps; HBO® included for 12 months + Streampix® included + Access to millions of hotspots nationwide
Internet Plus: $49.99; 10+; 25Mbps; HBO® and HBO GO® included + Access to millions of hotspots nationwide
Digital Premier & Performance Internet: $109.99; 260+; 25 Mbps; Now with X1 Platform from XFINITY!
This leads me to a number of questions:
There's only one package with 105Mbps internet?
When I click on the "View Lineup" link next to the number of channels (which goes here: http://www.comcast.com/Corporate/Learn/DigitalCable/TVChannelLineUp.html) I only see levels for "10+", "40+", and "220+" and they're called "Limited Basic", "Digital Economy", and "Digital Preferred" respectively. But these levels don't seem to match up with what's being sold.
When I click on "Pricing & Other Info" which is next to each of the prices, the text seems to indicate that for some services, prices might increase in two different stages? This gets worse when I look at triple play packages that require a 2 year contract. The prices go up after 12 months, then again at the end of the contract.
A number of the "extras" seem like things that all the packages have, how do I figure out which things are actually exclusive to that package and not others?
Contrast this to when I went to Verizon FiOS: after selecting a package it explicitly shows:
Price for month 1
Price for months 2-12
Price for months 13-24
How do I actually figure out what I get for the prices from Comcast?
