I'd like to get help from the experts on this board. I've been having noise problems over the last several weeks that showed up as thousands of codeword errors (both correctable and uncorrectable) per hour. My download speeds were only 1 MB and I had tiling on my HD channels. Every time I had a tech. call scheduled it cleared up before they got here. It's been running rock solid for the last week with 0 uncorrectable codeword errors across my 8 download channels and maybe a few correctable codeword errors per hour. I did the calculations and it came out to 10E-9 correctable codeword errors per good codeword.
Fast forward one week and this morning I get the "X1 network is having trouble connecting with your TV" message and then all my channels go out for a few minutes. I checked my cable modem and sure enough my correctable codeword counters were incrementing at 1000 times faster than before. Still only 10-15 errors per minute and no increase in uncorrectable codeword errors. The really odd thing is that while my IPv4 downloads were still clocking in at a consistent 126MB, my IPv6 downloads had dropped from 124MB to a consistent 54MB. Several hours later I checked my codeword error counters and now I was showing a burst of uncorrectable codeword errors. I picked up several thousand on each channel along with several thousand more correctable codeword errors. Then, magically, all the codeword errors stopped. I have not had either a correctable or uncorrectable codeword error for about an hour now. IPv6 download speeds, however, are still stuck at 54MB while IPv4 hums along at 126MB.
I have a tech call scheduled for tomorrow morning based on the phone rep. telling me he could see "some noise" on the line. Anybody have any ideas as to what's going on here and what specific things I should be sure the tech. checks? Thanks.
UPDATE - Still no codeword errors but now I am losing my ipv6 address after about 10 minutes. Using ipconfig /renew6 to get it back, but it keeps going away. I tried changing from stateless to stateful connection on my ASUS RT-AC68U router but it still loses the address. Never had this issue before today. Like my SB6141 modem, the Asus router has been rock solid.
