[Business] bridge mode/bring own router

Hi, has anyone successfully done this? We're being told that we need to purchase a cable modem AND bring our own IP addresses - latter of which seems a little odd/extreme. We'd like to use our own router for VPN/manageability. Thanks in advance - Joe
