[Connectivity] Packet Loss when it drops below 20 degrees

I am located in Northern Colorado, I am experiencing packet loss when the temperature drops below 20 degrees. I had a tech out here for this issue and he could not find any physical issues. Anyone know of what might be causing this? Thanks in advance!

[Connectivity] Jitter / lag spikes every 30 to 45 seconds!

1) Your location: Denver, CO 2) A description of the problem: I get very regular lag spikes every 30 to 45 seconds. This is of course terrible for online games. Smokeping shows average packet loss of 2% in the last 24 hour period. Manually pinging an external server such as 8.8.8.8 shows response times of 9-10ms, but then it will jump up, sometimes just to 500ms, and sometimes over 3,000ms, occasionally even dropping the packet completely. Speedtest is fine, it doesn't seem to impact streaming, but even when downloading the transfer speed will drop to 0 for a few seconds. This is even sometimes seen on the speedtest speed graph. The issue affects any and all devices, both wired and wireless. 3) Is the issue intermittent, constant or does it occur at a specific time of day? All times of day, and constant. It's almost always every 30 to 45 seconds on average. It has been like this for about a month now. 4) Your modem make, model & firmware version. How to find firmware version: Access modem Motorola SB6580, Arris firmware SBG6580-8.6.2.0-GA-00-131-NOSH It originally had a Motorola branded interface, but I'm guessing Comcast pushed out new firmware automatically at some point? 5) Describe any home networking if applicable. (i.e. routers, hubs, adapters, etc.) All-in-one router modem combo. No additional equipment. 6) List any firewall and/or anti-virus software you have installed. Include what version you have. Just using MSE/Windows firewall on both PCs. • What HSI Tier you are subscribed to: 50/5mbps • Post a Speed Test http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/4868691004 • Post what browser/browsers you are using while running a speed test. [Connectivity] SB 6141 EOL? Cause service to have horrible upload??

Last night my service took a dive. 9 out of 10 requests time out and connection is almost unusable. Finally got through to CS and was told my modem is EOL and that was causing my issues. There is nothing they can do is what I was told. What kind of BS is that? Anyone else have their service nearly stop all together after the SB 6141 hit EOL on Wednesday Nov. 11th?

[Equip] ARRIS SB6183 or Zoom 5370

I have a SB6120 on Comcast Performance tier. Since the SB6120 is EOL and I'm going to upgrade to a higher tier soon, I would like to replace it with a 16x4 modem. I've narrowed it down to the ARRIS SB6183 or the Zoom 5370. They're both currently $89.99 on amazon. Which one do you guys recommend?

[Equip] Changing to a non-VoIP cable modem and keeping phone line active

I am looking to upgrade my cable modem. I currently have an Arris TM722 VoIP cable modem, which Comcast installed a few years back. Prior to that, our phone line did not run through a cable modem. I want to upgrade to a faster modem, either the Arris SB6183 or the SB6141. Neither of these, however, support VoIP. So, my question is, how do I keep my phone line running now without a VoIP modem? I don't believe there is any phone jack in the house anymore that connects outdoors since Comcast performed the installation. I spoke to a representative regarding the issue, however, they told me it's not possible for me to keep my phone line without a VoIP modem. Is this true, or are there alternatives?

For the last month or so, been having a problem getting to the "My Account" page from "My Xfinity". I get this error page https://customer.xfinity.com/UhOh. I've checked to make sure my cookies are enabled, don't see any other setting to cause this. Any ideas? -- Knirps for moisture.

[Connectivity] DNS UDP connections have suddenly grown

$

Has Comcast changed something recently? I'm seeing 100's of UDP DNS NAT connections hanging around my router's NAT table. This has gotten to the point in the last few days where the TABLE FILLS UP and no more internet activity can occur until these connections time out. It's gotten to where I can't stream anything from hulu even after a newly rebooted router and no other activity going on. I have an older router with a small table and a fixed timeout of 5 minutes. And old as it is I've never had such extreme troubles. Even with a more recent router I'm not sure I'd fair much better in the long run. There seems to be a marked trend of an ever increasing number of these requests (around 7-8 DNS requests issued within a second, per every link on a webpage, and this number seems to be growing slowly). Like I say, this just began to be woefully noticeable in the last few days. Prior to this I hadn't noticed any issues. Has Comcast DNS servers perhaps stopped responding to these requests? Have Firefox and Chrome both started issuing more of these requests? Has something tripped in my router so that these aren't being cleared out in a more timely fashion? I even tried to block these using Windows Firewall but still the NAT table fills. A little lost here. :(

[Cancel] My business failed, how can I cancel my contract?

In January of 2014, I started a business with two partners. Almost a year later, one of the partners left the business. Now that a second year has passed, we can no longer continue in this line of work. We have accepted our failure and dissolved the business. We have taken down our site and we are moving. We need to cancel our Comcast Business Internet Service, but after reading a bunch of posts on here, it looks like we are going to be charged for the remaining year on our contract. Can anyone provide any advice about the best way to handle this? We signed up for a 3 year contract in January 2014. The business no longer exists and we won't even have access to the building where we had service. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. -- Conscious Neglect Equals Perpetration.

Outage in Gaithersburg MD

Last night Saturday 11/28/2015 internet service was fairly weak due to an area outage. TV was OK but internet was intermittently slow. It was resolved around ~9 PM. This morning all was fine, but now Sunday evening 11/29/2015 service is again weak. Download seem sOK but upload is dismal. I am usually 150/20 consistently but the DSL speed test timed out. Is anyone else in this are having issues?

[Signals] SB6183: Channels 1 - 4 report unknown or a high number of errors

The thing is the tech support people say all looks good from their end. Anyone know if this is a SB6183 bug or a problem they're ignoring? Before a month or so ago, I never saw this but that was also when the last firmware update was pushed.

New Modem

I currently have a SB6121 modem with blast internet that got upgraded to 75MBs. Since my modem is EOL, I was wonder what would be a good modem to upgrade and some what future proof. I was looking at 6141, 6183, and the 6190. And whats the deal with the channels for the downloads and uploads.

http://i.imgur.com/qjPu7A9.png I'm in an apartment complex now. Service is pretty good here, but one thing is bugging me. Occasionally when I try to load pages on any device connected to my modem, it'll just hang there and do nothing. I stop the page from loading on whatever device I'm using and refresh and usually a minute or two it'll load just fine. Could that be something to do with the 7th channel?

[Equip] ZYXEL BRG35503 modem no longer supported?? Help?

I have two ZYXEL BRG35503 Docsis 3 modems, one at home, one at our church, purchased from newegg last year, and working fine until this morning. Our Comcast Internet is down both places, fine for our neighbors though. The status light is blinking. Tech support cannot reach the modem. I cannot believe it is a coincidence that my two locations with previously working Zyxel modems are all of a sudden not working. Any ideas? Who to talk to? How to get a hold of someone higher in comcast tech support to actually look at this issue? I am borrowing internet from my kind neighbor right now but this needs to be resolved. [IPv6] Getting 1 Hour IPV6 Lease Times

$

I'm in the Philly Burbs, 19030 zip code. Looks like sometime over the past few days I've noticed my router log is full of DHCP notices of my IPV6 renewing. It seems to be on Comcast's end as even when nothing is running on my router, when I get home and check the logs it shows every 60 minutes the Ipv6 has been renewing. Ipv4 seems to be fine. I'm running a SB6141 modem with a TP-Link Archer AC1750 router that have been fine for over a year. I'm not seeing any connection issues other than the router logs filling up with all the IPv6 requests. Resetting the router hasn't done anything. Would the 1 hour IPv6 lease times just be a sign of some sort of maintenance in the area? I guess if everything still running fine I'm just curious as this is the 1st time I've seen something like this with the IPv6.
