So looking at my rate card, it shows that additional IP addresses for residential accounts is $6.95 a month.
So I am now at 1 hour 15 minutes on hold and have been sent from billing, to tech support, to wireless gateway support, to billing and now billing is saying I have to talk to tech support and they have at least another 10 minute wait.
So billing came back as I am writing this and telling me that tech support is saying that this requires a static IP and is only available for business. So if that is the case, why is it published on the residential rate card?

[Connectivity] New neighborhood
The area I'm moving to Jackson Township Chesterton, IN is surrounded by Comcast but it's not on the specific street I'm on. Frontier is the provider for telephone and their DSL very slow. A WISP wasn't an option because of convents. There's about 20 houses and half or more would like to get Comcast for better speeds. Anything I could do to start that process? We're right off a main road with service.

Gigabit Service Actual "Quote"
I got overly excited to find out gigabit service from Comcast is available here in Kirkland. I was under the impression it was, you know, reasonably priced:
"Gigabit Pro is available, however, there is a $500 activation fee, it will need to be pro-installed an you will also have to rent new internet equipment for this tier. Before taxes and fees the monthly cost for Gigabit Pro comes to $1319.90. -BR"
I've not been able to find this anywhere online, and the Comcast website is a ... challenge. Curious if anyone in the Kirkland neighborhoods actually have gigabit service? Somehow I was under the impression that gig service was available for ~$126/mo not $1320/mo.

Monthly 1TB Cap.
I live in the Harrisburg, PA area and with Pennsylvania not being listed on the Xfinity Data plan page as being an area where the 1TB cap is enforced, anyone have an idea how much you could use without getting an excessive use letter. Since I'm a streaming video household my monthly data use has surged significantly.

[Equip] XFi wit Xpods
Is the Xfi with Xpods worth it. Currently have a Netgear CM 1000 with a Netgear Orbi (one base and one satellite) but the Wi-Fi in my house is lopsided. It seems to be stronger on one side of the house and dead on the other (kitchen and second bedroom are dead). I can tell because Wi-Fi calling on At&t only works in certain rooms. I was thinking of getting the six pack of Xpods and putting one in every room because my house was built in the 1890's and has thick plaster walls.
I currently have gigabit service.

MB8600 and IPv6
I have a Motorola MB8600. I'm trying to get IPv6 working with my Juniper SRX345 router. I followed a guide here -
http://forums.xfinity.com/t5/Your-Home-Network/Re-Juniper-SRX-config-for-DHCPv6/m-p/3056363/highlight/true#M274994
I get connectivity and addresses for both IPv4 and IPv6. However after a few minutes I lose all connectivity and can no longer ping the upstream gateway on IPv4 or IPv6. Doing a packet capture shows that I can no ARP response from the modem. It looks like a bug either in the modem or the config. Anyone have suggestions besides buying the Arris DOCSIS 3.1 modem?

SB8200 firmware, secondly IPV6
Hi everyone,
I hope you are well. I was wondering if anyone knew what the latest firmware is for the SB8200. I am pretty sure there is a newer one in circulation than what my modem is running. Also, if I am correct. Is there a way to have it upgraded, Arris/Motorola told me to go to Comcast and Comcast said go to the vendor. Needless to say I am stuck.
Secondly, I am not sure of the answer to this but would anyone know the correct MTU size for IPV6 on xfinity. Also, should the MTU be set to 1500 or 1472 for IPV4?
Third, my router is asking me several questions I do not know the answer to when enabling IPV6, the first is if IPV6 is automatic, I assume it is. The second is if I want to enable 6rd tunnel. It will allow me to set it as automatic or manual. I do not know what a 6rd tunnel is so if anyone could advise that would be awesome.
Thank you,
J

[Connectivity] Connectivity Issues with Xfinity
Since my daughter came home from college, we have been experiencing quite a number of connectivity issues with our Cable Modem (ARRIS DOCSIS 3.0) and XFinity. She does quite a bit of streaming of the video games she is playing, so that may be part of the issue. When I look at the logs, the most common error I see is :
No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out;CM-MAC=d4:0a:a9:56:6c:7f;CMTS-MAC=00:01:5c:71:66:60;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0;
Also attaching a PDF of the Status Page showing Downstream and Upstream Channels, but I don't know how to read it (note that this status is current and modem is fully operational).
I have seen a lot of posts when I google for "No ranging response received" but there doesn't seem to be a single solution for the issue. Based on the information provided for my situation, can anyone recommend possible root causes? Do I need to get a new cable modem? Is there potentially an issue that requires Xfinity to send a technician out?
We also have a Wireless Router from ASUS, but we experience the issue even when directly connected via a LAN line.
Any help would be appreciated.

Promo ending how to get best deal?
My current 24 mo promo is ending in August (a double play) and I've called and talked to (2) different people and the best deal I was offered is an increase of $20 per month which is out of the question. I'm currently on the X1 starter double play promo with 1 DVR and I would like to keep the same level of service.
Can anyone give me some different numbers to call?
Is it worthwhile to go to the local Xfinity store or would that be a waste of time for an existing customer? When my previous 24 mo promo ended I had no problems at all getting another good 24 mo promo but so far this time has been difficult.

[Other] Comcast 1gig, speed slow to ramp up.
Here is my speedtest: https://www.dslreports.com/speedtest/35055912
My "issue" is, though I get up to 930Mbps on different speed test, it ramps up slowly, like 4-5 seconds to reach max speed, where as speed tests I looked at on youtube tend to jump to near max speed right away. Is this an issue that can be fixed? And can someone tell me why I get no bufferbloat score on dslreports?

[Equip] Actiontec ECB6200 bonded MoCA bridges with X1 boxes - help!
Hey all
Last year I asked around about help regarding setting up MoCA in my home with a very weird and not at all ideal network topology. Eventually I managed to get that to work by replacing the amplifiers with a rare sort that explicitly bypasses MoCA signals, the PDI-MBA-101-A. (In general amps today do not seem to bypass MoCA even if they are branded 'MoCA' in some way.)
In any case. That is all in the past. I decided I was sick of the old RNG150 boxes and DTAs and that we should move to X1. In accordance with that, they found and removed almost all hidden splitters, save one in the attic, and had all lines otherwise come straight out of one amplifier.
Now. The MoCA bridges are Actiontec ECB6200 bonded-channel models, and we were outfitted with 1 XG1v3 DVR, 1 XG2v2-P box, and 4 XiD-Ps. While those boxes work,
1) the fact that the XG1 and XG2 boxes' firmware has MoCA set to use version 1.1 rather than version 2.0 makes for a maximum speed (which I only got a few times) of 100Mbps down;
2) after some actual use of the boxes (*not* while they are being used, but after they have been - see #3 below) the maximum bandwidth decreased again, to like, 40Mbps and even worse,
3) while the boxes are in use - even if just for live TV and not anything else that would require the boxes' MoCA connection (e.g. the DVR), speedtests decrease even more, to about 25Mbps - no better than a marginal powerline-based network - and regardless of the speedtest, internet delivered over MoCa remains too spotty to use: Netflix stays on SD streams less than 1Mbps large, Plex needs to transcode to a very small stream, etc.
There is nothing in the cabling that could be causing this, to my knowledge. Unplugging all the X1 boxes and leaving the Actiontecs in yields full bonded MoCA speeds. One of the bridges is sharing a spot with my modem (the coax comes out of the wall, goes to the bridge, and then goes from the bridge to the modem) which worked without issue before: I got full 240/12 down speeds on my modem and my MoCA speeds did not suffer either. The other bridge is next to the XG1 DVR, but the passthrough function didn't work (again, it did with the first bridge and the modem) so I put a known-good MoCA-rated 2-way splitter there and had one output go to the DVR and one to the ECB6200. Again, as long as I unplugged all X1 devices, MoCA worked at full speed.
Checking the ECB6200 settings - they are at their defaults, of 1150Mhz/Band D Extended. This is reputedly the only setting that works at all. I did try using different bands but this deteriorated speeds and performance whilst actively using X1 boxes even more severely.
I can't be the only person who wants to use MoCA (particularly bonded, but really any sort) for home networking, while also using Xfinity X1 boxes. In fact, I found one person who successfully got it working at this Reddit thread - and he even managed to get 2.0 to work with the addition of an XB3 gateway (which I refuse to do) - but nothing in his thread would suggest that he ever suffered from these interference issues.
This could very well be a dealbreaker: if I can't fix this, I'll try to move back down to the old RNG150 boxes while I still can. I would love to avoid that, though. So, please, if anybody has any ideas as to how to get the ECB6200s to play nice with X1, I'm all ears.

[OUTAGE] Comcast sites down?
Right now, I cannot get into many Comcast sites that require a login. For the forums, I get a long 'waiting for idp.comcast.net', then 'connecting to login.comcast.net'. [Speed] Side Discussion About Gigabit Pro & earlier Gigabit Deployments
Anyone know if Comcast has actually started installs? I live in the west palm beach, fl market announced for deployment this month. So far phone agents don't know anything of the service. I've been told by different agents, 2016, June and it'll be in the system tomorrow. None had even heard of the service before I inquired and they did a bit of research, so I went to out local sales office to inquire in person. There I had to show them the press release, to which they simply said its not yet available in the market. Seems like this was a pure fiber to the press release hail marry announcement to try to salvage the dead merger.

[Speed] Changing to a lower speed plan.
I am dropping to the 150/5 plan and have a question.
During the Seattle Seahawks games I sling box those games to 3 different people at the same time.
Before I had the blast pro and was getting around 285/12 and never had a problem.
Is the 150/5 enough to do the same thing? or should I pay the extra $15.00 and stay with blast pro.
Trying to save a $ if possible.
Thanks.

Internet speed
I am not a Comcast customer. My parents use Comcast for TV and Internet. They have very basic plan. They live in on beach town and I was at their townhouse on the 4th, and I was very surprised at the low speed of their internet connection. Their PC and my cell were like dial up speed. Comcast is the only ISP in the area. When I visited them in the past ( outside of prime summer vacation) , the internet speed was ok. Just curious if they fact the area was full of people on vacation had any impact on their internet connection ? Can anybody help me on this ?
Second I called Comcast to see if there was a service issue . I was put on hold for five minutes, the rep indicated they ran a test and found no issue but they told that me that I would have better speed if I restart the cable modem. I do not want my parents messing with the modem so I will find out if there is increase in speed on my next visit. Again I am curious did Comcast do anything to increase the internet speed . I would appericate any help ?

[Rant] Comcast dragging their feet
Everyone in this particular neighbor in Cameron Park, CA complains about their internet. It’s called Cameron Park Estates and Comcast Xfinity refuses to build out their network to reach this neighborhood. All the people there can only get DSL/Sat and it’s bad DSL. A local real estate company gave Comcast 1million and they still won’t build it out. Just got off phone w Xfinity and ViaSat is the fastest option available. Comcast took this money and still won’t build out the cable network. Frustrating when all the people complain about lack of reliable (rains a lot there) fast internet and Comcast still drags their feet. It’s 2018.

[Equip] Modem Ser # vs MAC address on acct
Can any of you look at your acct online and tell me what is showing for your modem Serial #? Serial # or MAC?
I provisioned(through Walled Garden) a new MB8600 about 3 weeks ago and although it's been working fine I just noticed the modem MAC address is what is being displayed where it says Modem Ser #. I started a chat a little bit ago and think I got it corrected but said it may take 12 -24 hours for it to show correctly.
I was beginning to get concerned because I'm in the Central region who just got the Speed Upgrades. I'm Extreme 150/20 and should have upgraded to 250. I was also getting a "TLV-11 - unrecognized OID" in the Event Log which I was not getting initially. And now my online acct is reflecting the speed tier however still not seeing it.
I could swear I checked the settings once the Walled Garden provisioned the new modem to ensure it was all correct.
So now I'm not sure if it's that error(s) that is causing me to not see the updated speeds.
Netcool has been contacted but you know weekend and all.
