Uncorrectables, higher power levels, after solid 3+ months

I've posted before about concerns with event log entries, along with some correctables and no uncorrectables, but was told as long as it wasn't service impacting, it wasn't anything to worry about. It stayed that away for at least 3 months, still hasn't lost sync, and I don't check modem stats every day, but for fun, I did tonight. Signal levels are now a bit higher, and quite a few uncorrectables, that I never had at all. This is recent. For whatever it''s worth, there was a Comcast van across the street, in the cul de sac, earlier today. He's have no reason to touch the pedestal I'm connected to, but could anything he was doing, perhaps cause this? Just asking. Feels like AT&T all over again. Any input/feedback appreciated.

[Equip] High correctables on OFDM

SO I just migrated back over to my Motorolla MB8600 and the OFDM correctables is constantly incrementing. Did not have this when it was installed previously nor when I had a Netgear CM1000 installed. All signals look fine. The modem has only been up a little over 12 hours.

Xfi Advantage in West Region does not include removal of cap

I called Xfinity and spoke to them about the availability of Xfi advantage in the West region (Denver). They told me it would be available tomorrow ( March 22,2019) but when I asked about the unlimited (uncapped) feature of the Xfi advantage they told me they didn't think that was a feature. The customer service agent researched the question and called me back. The customer service agent was told by a product manager that in the west xfinity will not be including unlimited cap for the Xfi Advantage package in the west. The central region is getting a much better deal, and I think that is mostly due to the lack of competition in our market. I have attached a picture from another customer showing what is being offered in the Central Region. [att=1]

[Price] 2 year $70 gigabit offer w/ free xFI equipment rental?

I was checking my upgrade deals via my xfinity account and found an offer that expires today for 2 years of gigabit @ $70/month with a 1-year agreement. They are throwing in the xFI modem/router for free (during the 2 year agreement, then it looks like it'll be charged a monthly rental). Is anyone on this offer? I currently pay $69.99 for Blast Pro 250, so this seems like a no-brainer for a penny more a month.

How to avoid hardwire

My house is just over 1,500 feet from the street where Comcast/xfinity has service available. The cost to connect my house is prohibitive. I do have a garage with 110 volt power at the end of my driveway right next to the street. My question , would it be possible to install internet in my garage since it is a 30 foot run to the street, then I could run wifi from my garage to my house. I know I would have to purchase antennas to cover that range. Would this be possible? If so any equipment recommendations?

Ever since there was an outage in my area, my download and upload speeds are terrible. I'm supposed to get 250/24 speeds. I'm getting 90 down and about 20 up. This happened last week.

Below is a picture of the demarc box. You can see a PPC branded MOCA filter installed on top of the ground block. Would there be any problems having this MOCA filter installed like this?

Cable modem frequencies

I keep some printed out pages of my signal levels just for reference.i noticed they added some frequencies I never saw before on the lower end and on the higher end.i obviously know that a cable modem can only handle up to 32 channels, but I now know that my CMTS has more than 32 channels available.my question is it common for some CMTS (headend) to have more than 32 channels available?

&nbsp FYI - In the https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r31219835-SB8200-32x8-DOCSIS-3-1-cable-modem-Feedback-and-Results-thread~start=1650 thread in the https://www.dslreports.com/forum/motorola forum, ARRIS SB8200 owners on Comcast are reporting that they have received a firmware update (Version SB8200.0200.174F.311915.NSH.RT.NA) that provides a new "Enable LAG" option for Ethernet port aggregation. The new screen is located at 192.168.100.1/lagcfg.html

EPON. Found this link for comcast today.

Looks like Comcast is going to EPON. Probably a good move since there will only be so much more life out of DOCSIS and Arris. This will probably also make it really easy for them to sell bandwidth to the hundreds of 5g microcells that will be needed to make that system work. https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/all-ip-xfinity-fiber-only-network My question, has anyone got it yet and how do I get this to my hood? We are about 15 houses that sit less than 1/2 mile from the area CMTS. The actual fiber line sits on a pole right next to the neighborhood. I wouldnt think it would be too much of a stretch to ask them to come in and do the entire neighborhood. If not there is a public ROW all the way to the pole. I would be more than willing to do the trenching and buy the fiber. Same thing team fissle will do. Currently, have 1gig DOCSIS 3.1 and it blows. They throttle the heck out of it during busy times due to the fact they basically do a digital version of old RF coax cable limiting bandwidth over the network. You run a speed test and it looks great but do an actual download or youtube video and it is throttled. How do I know? I log into a VPN which tops out at 250mb down with a speed test on my 1gig connection and transfer rates quadruple.

What is the downside to 10mbs upload

I am going to switch from frontier 150/150 to comcast 150/10. Most of what we do now is downloading, lot of streaming classes, streaming meetings, netflix, hulu, and at least two kids gaming at once. I am wondering what problems I will experience by dropping that far in upload.

Upgraded to Gigabit Internet, Need new modem, suggestions please

I currently have a Arris SB6183. I need to get a new modem to get the faster speeds. Best Buy has the Netgear CM1000 for $165.99, but Costco has the Netgear CM1100 for $139.99. Is there any difference between them beside the extra Ethernet port? Also any other info you can provide would be appreciated.

[Other] gonetspeed fiber competing with comcast

Some workers in a bucket truck were pulling wire in front of my house and told me they're installing fiber in the neighborhood for gonetspeed, which would be a new isp for my area's market. I looked them up and it seems they're offering three speed tiers of 100, 500, and 1000 all with symmetrical speeds. The 100/100 plan is $50 and therefore faster and cheaper than what I have currently with comcast. I'm pretty happy with the quality and reliability of comcast internet but glad there's some competition for my business.

[Rant] Cant get higher speeds with out adding extra services

So I have blast 150/10 service, but wanted to bump it up a bit to try and get a little more upload as the one thing I am missing is my upload I had on fios ( moved not and is not available at my address or i would have it even with crappy frontier being the provider ) Anyway while my address qualifies for at least 400 meg service and my modem is certified for gig service I cant get more then blast unless I add voice or security to my account if I do a triple play the 250 and 400 meg tiers open up but I being told I cant have those if i just have TV and internet and I cant just upgrade my circuit with out bundling more services I do not want. What kind of bs is this.

eMTA Modem deactivated every other day?

So I have one account that's having an odd situation one day the internet works fine, the next day it redirects to comcast activation... you can reactivate fine... but the next day back to working fine next day back at activation.. now if I dont redo the activation the intenet works again the next day anyways What in the world would cause this? when the internet is going to activation the phone still works fine... it only seems to impact the internet side... and if you dont do activation at all it just alternates one day on one day off... comcast support claims it's the modem, which is BS because it's only the internet and it's going to activation which suggests its on comcasts end... anyone ever see anything like this?

Is there a new approved modem page on Comcast's web site?

This page just puts me into an infinite redirect loop. https://mydeviceinfo.xfinity.com/ Looks like it redirects to https://mydeviceinfo.xfinity.com/#/customerinfo and then to https://mydeviceinfo.xfinity.com/customerinfo and then it loops forever between the last last two. Does this still work for anyone else?

I was at Costco today and I saw the new Netgear CM1100 and I noticed 2 ethernet ports. I have the gigabit upgrade with my double play. Is the modem worth the upgrade or should I stick with my CM1000. My router is the Netgear Orbi.

Odd coaxial connector

Hey all, my father wanted me to move his modem downstairs so he could direct connect his computer instead of using wifi. I went over to his house to unscrew the modem and saw these odd circle plates over the end. What is this and do I need a tool to remove them? Thanks in advance. :-)
