Gigabit Signal levels? Are These Good?

Can't Get the whole list, at least for Downstream, as unforuately it displays sideways for the XB7 on my system, Upstream below as well, Wired with Direct lines from i guess outside for Modem, and direct line to XG1V4 Cable box. White Line for The Modem that was pre ran before we moved in, and a black line for The TV box Install Tech tested the lines prior to hooking up to our original XB3 Modem, upgraded to XB7 a few months ago.

Upgrading upload speed for security cameras

Happy New Year everybody. May this year be way way better than last! Good riddance to 2020! I'm not a network tech - just a former electronics R&D tech from the 60's, who's learned a little about this. :-) We're in the Denver area and have Xfinity for voip phone and high speed internet. 2 adults, 2 PC's and 2 TV's. Been using a TM822G owned by us, with a Linksys AC1900 Dual Band Open Source WiFi Wireless Router (WRT1900ACS), which was originally higher power, but was reduced by a firmware upgrade. ( we have to cover an 80 ft long house ). The PC's use just their wifi and work fine, and I added a D-Link Wireless AC1200 Dual Band Wi-Fi Gigabit Range Extender & Access Point (DAP-1650) for each TV. Those all work fine. But we recently switched to a new home security company, and got 3 cameras installed with it. It seems that they need more upload speed than the plan we have, which is 5Gbps. The security company suggests at least 10Gbps. So I got with Xfinity and they suggested upgrading to 400/10 service. We did, BUT it got flaky immediately. Turns out that their chat people told me that the new plan doesn't work with the TM822G. Arghhh. So they put it back last night, but I don't know if they re-provisioned it again, because today's test stinks. ( They may have the day off today, and I certainly won't blame them for that. So do I. :-) ) But in the meantime, they referred me to a page with modem options, which they say they can set up for me, and if I want, I can even buy my own, or just keep theirs and rent. SO my first question is, which of these is the best affordable option. And should I still use my Linksys router, or is one of their modems a better high powered choice for reaching the whole house? Remember that the security cameras are outside the house, up on the eaves, so they're now the most distant sources that must be reached. The Linksys has adjustable antennas, and I'm wondering if I can revert to the original firmware and restore the higher power, or if we need to. The TV's are fine, and the security cams are transmitting - not receiving. Happy New Year, all of you.

[Equip] Aurora Networks PS1911W-00 on Comcast Xfinity Gigabit Fiber

Hello, Looking for some help. We have gigabit internet through Comcast Xfinity. We live in Ocean County, NJ in a newer development with fiber. When we initially got hooked up to service the tech installed an Aurora Networks PS1911W-00 (12V output) power adapter that plugs coax into power. We own our own modem and router. The adapter broke and was replaced at a Comcast store with a Commscope CSAPAE415V500 (15V output). Is this newer more powerful adapter going to damage anything in our home? Just to satisfy my curiosity --- Why do we and all of our neighbors have these power adapters in our homes? Is this standard? Is it required? Obviously if I unplug the adapter our internet goes down. Do these devices signify a bigger problem with the neighborhoods network? Thank you for your help. I have attached photos of the two adapters. Will be more than willing to answer any questions to clarify.

2 routers connected to xb7 possible?

On my old att connection I had two routers connected to our modem (one for my stuff, the other for the rest of my family). Is this possible with Comcast? I read in another post it would only assign one WAN IP? Maybe I read it wrong.

[Signals] Single 32QAM Upstream?

I've been having some strange internet issues recently, which I don't think it's related to my signal but wanted to see... So I logged into the web UI and I noticed that all my upstream channels are 64QAM except for one, which is 32QAM. Is this normal? I would had thought they would use the same modulation for all the upstreams. For what it's worth, here are the upstream levels... I just upgraded to gigabit internet with xfinity. However when I do a speed test my speeds are in the upper 700 Mbps range. I disconnected the router and plugged-in straight to the modem and my speeds jump up to over 900 Mbps. So I guess the bottleneck is the router. I need a recommendation for a good router that will handle my new speeds. Appreciate any advice on which router I should get. The EA6400 can't handle the new speed. Thank you!!

[Firmware] Config File Rejected

I'm seeing the following in my Arris SB8200 event log. When this occurs, I lose Internet connectivity. I realize Comcast is responsible for firmware, but what exactly is going on here? It looks like this is occurring every ~12 hours. 01/26/2021 12:40 68001102 3 "Config File Rejected due to Invalid or Unexpected TLV 11 encoding;CM-MAC=;CMTS-MAC=;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.1;" 01/26/2021 12:40 73040200 3 "TLV-11 - Illegal Set operation failed;CM-MAC=;CMTS-MAC=;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.1;" Current firmware: AB01.02.053.01_112320_193.0A.NSH

All these Xfinity gateways in my subdivision

One of the hideous byproducts of all these Comcast all in one gateways is the huge number of hidden networks they spew on the 2.4 GHz band. As if interference wasn't bad enough, now every home has multiple networks radiating from it. Maybe this is a rhetorical question, but what genius thought it was a good idea to put a dual band gateway in every home with multiple hidden networks?

To find your nearest hotspot, go to xfinity.com/wifi and enter your zip code. Once you are at the location, follow the instructions at xfinity.com/wifi to join the hotspot. These 1.5 million hotspots are now free for all who need them through this challenging time. Ping time vary wildly

My son was complaining last night about our connection. He said he did some ping tests because his game was lagging bad. Pings were anywhere from less than 100mS to greater than 1000mS :o (How do we put the less than and grater than" symbols in a post>) I have also noticed Zoom sessions frequently get choppy even people voices are frequently breaking up. I am using an Arris SB8200, my signals all are "in the zone" the lowest channel is -7db. Speed tests show I am getting the full 400/12.

[Equip] XB7 Technicolor CGM4331COM/Arris TG4482 - Wireless AX(Wi-Fi 6)

Looks like a new xfinity gateway passed through testing. No idea if it's going to be called the XB6 still, probably XB7 or something. Model number seems to be CGM4331COM. The test report mentions that it has 802.11ax. Looks like this unit may only have 4 antennas(4x4 AX on both bands). The current XB6 are a 2x2 N 2.4 GHz + 8x8 AC 5 GHz design(I believe it has a total of 12 antennas as a result). See - https://fcc.io/G95/4331X Submitted shortly before it, are two other Technicolor devices called the XHR1-TC and the XHU1-TC. The XHU1-TC might be something like the current XB6 power supply, but upgraded? Its description is listed as "LTE power supply." The XHR1-TC is listed as a Zigbee repeater. No idea if this will have a fan, but the label does say 12V/4.6A, so 55.2 watts, so I guess it will. The original Technicolor XB6(CGM4140COM) had a 60 watt power supply. Edit: Changed title to reflect XB7 Edit2: Title updated again to mention Arris version if it arrives.

[Signals] OFDMA for Upstream?? When?

So a few weeks ago here in Castle Rock, CO I swear I saw my SB8200 bonded to a OFDMA upstream channel and I know for a fact I was getting 40Mb US on my BlastPro. I wish I had the speed test to prove it. Now I don't see the OFDMA channel any longer and I'm getting 12Mb US again. I've rebooted the modem and don't see it trying bond to the OFDMA any longer. Did it get shut down on the CMTS? When is this getting turned on? Also once OFDMA is finalized will the upload speeds be increased at all? 12Mb with multiple people on video conference calls is trash. Especially when the webcams are starting to come standard 4K now.

Comcast refuses to push the latest(deployed) firmware to router

I have a Netgear C6300BD(AC1900) router/modem combo. I'm signed up for the 400mb internet package. As of right now I'm only getting 115mbps down and 20up when I test with a wired connection, WIFI is like 85 down and 15 up. Pathetic. Also there are some signal loss issues. I took a look and noticed that the firmware currently running on the router is MANY iterations behind the latest release, and an entire generation behind what even Comcast says it has deployed. I'm currently running firmware version: 2.01.08 Comcast claims it has deployed version: 3.01.12 I've spent hours on the phone with NetGear who claim they only develop the firmware then send it to the ISP(Comcast) for testing and verification. When I bring this to Comcast over MULTIPLE calls all I get is the same reset/power cycle BS runaround that obviously isn't gonna just magically push this firmware update. I've tried to get one of the reps to transfer me to tier 2 or tier 3 support, but those call center workers in the Phillipines have no clue, bless their hearts. Anyhow, I'm here hoping someone with the ability to help reads this and get back to me.
