It appears Extreme Pro + in the West was just bumped to 800

I’ve been salty that when the rest of the country’s 600 tier bumped to 800 this year, the West didn’t. 25 became 50 and 1000 became 1200. And that was it. However, checking my account last night, it’s now says it’s at 800. I don’t currently have anything wired at home so I can’t do a proper speed test. Can anybody in the West on EP+ confirm they were bumped too and are seeing the increased speeds?

[Equip] SB6183: Higher latency after using BitTorrent?

I've noticed that sometimes if I use BitTorrent to download something, my latency will increase from 9-10ms to about 21-80ms, with a lot of jitter, even after I've shut down the torrent. This will persist until I reboot the modem. Has anyone else seen this? I've attached an MRTG graph. I downloaded a torrent at around 18:00 (left side of the graph). It finished within the hour, and I closed the client, but as you can see the latency stayed high until I noticed and rebooted the modem around 22:30.

I have a SB8200 modem and a Asus RT-AX86U router. I have one cable connected to one of the wan ports on the modem and the other end in the 2.5 Gb port of the router. I should add that I have comcast 1200 Mbps internet plan. However, my speed is consistently around 950 Mbps. Anyone that can shed any light as to why my speeds are not over 1 Gbps would be greatly appreciated. I should also say that I'm using Cat 6 ethernet cables. I'm fairly certain that I have the router set up correctly.

Has anyone had luck ordering Gigabit Pro recently?

It's been a while, but since Xfinity went through my neighborhood with the Fiber Deep project about two years ago I decided to call Xfinity and ask about Gigabit Pro availability now (before Fiber Deep project I didn't qualify, but I literally now have fiber and a Cisco fiber box in my backyard.) It was previously difficult to reach the right sales rep, but on previous attempts after about twenty minutes of being transferred around, I would eventually be connected to someone who knew what I was talking about. However yesterday I had no such luck; despite explaining it (and its projected costs) to several people, no one could figure out who to transfer me to who might know (I will cut them slack as previously the phone reps would ask others, and it sounds like now they're all still handling calls from home.) That has me wondering if Gigabit Pro has now achieved urban myth status, as in they used to offer it initially for the GIgabit claim and then for other PR value, but they don't actually offer the service any more as it served its purpose. Indeed, you used to be able to get information on the Xfinity web site if you knew where to click, but that information seems to be gone, too. I even talked to the Metro-E people and though they were the only ones who seemed aware of the service I was referring to, they had no idea what department to transfer me to or who might handle it.

Internet Speed Upgrade Question?

I am asking for a relative in western Michigan who currently has 200mb down and 10mb up but would like higher upload speeds. I see there is a plan with 800mb down and 20mb up, and also one with 1.2gb down and 35mb up, but I can't seem to locate any pricing information for those plans. I am trying to figure out how much their bill would increase if they went with one of those plans. How do you find the pricing for their plans, or alternately if anyone has done a speed increase recently can you tell me how much your bill increased? They also have TV service with Comcast as well, if that matters.

I'm seeing the following in my Arris SB8200 event log. When this occurs, I lose Internet connectivity. I realize Comcast is responsible for firmware, but what exactly is going on here? It looks like this is occurring every ~12 hours. 01/26/2021 12:40 68001102 3 "Config File Rejected due to Invalid or Unexpected TLV 11 encoding;CM-MAC=;CMTS-MAC=;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.1;" 01/26/2021 12:40 73040200 3 "TLV-11 - Illegal Set operation failed;CM-MAC=;CMTS-MAC=;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.1;" Current firmware: AB01.02.053.01_112320_193.0A.NSH

FCC Shares Start Date of Emergency Broadband Benefit Program EBB enrollment will open on May 12, 2021 FCC press release - April 29, 2021 https://www.fcc.gov/document/fcc-shares-start-date-emergency-broadband-benefit-programquote:Today, FCC Acting Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel announced the start date of the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program. As of May 12, 2021, eligible households will be able to enroll in the Program to receive a monthly discount off the cost of broadband service from an approved provider. Eligible households can enroll through an approved provider or by visiting https://getemergencybroadband.org. "Families in every corner of the country have been struggling to get online throughout this pandemic. For those families, we now say help is around the corner. In less than two weeks, we will have a new way for disconnected Americans to access the internet to carry out their dayto-day life, so they can reach the virtual classroom, take advantage of telehealth, and seek new employment opportunities. I'm proud of the work we've done as an agency to get this program off the ground in record time," said Rosenworcel. Between now and the start date, the FCC encourages partners and participating providers to conduct outreach efforts so that every eligible household knows about the program and how to sign up. The Commission will be providing a variety of materials for partners to use in their efforts to increase awareness about the program. During this time, the FCC and its program administrator, USAC, will continue to ensure that appropriate privacy and security safeguards are in place. The FCC also urges providers to continue to test their own systems for the program launch. The Emergency Broadband Benefit Program will provide eligible households with discounts of up to $50 a month for broadband service, and up to $75 a month if the household is on Tribal lands. It also will provide a one-time discount of up to $100 on a computer or tablet for eligible households. [Signals] Xfinity/Comcast: CM-STATUS Code: 14 + Code: 16 - Channel 37

Hello all, I would like to run this by some of the members here much smarter than I when it comes to modem log debugging and signal strengths. I have Xfinity gigabit, recently upgraded to 1.2 Gb down. I was originally using a Netgear CM1000 which has been working great for the past couple years. I noticed on a few occasions that internet (per my router) would drop out intermittently and then come back. I would fact check this with my brother in law who lives in the same neighborhood as me and is on the same Xfinity node. On a few occasions, it seemed that only I was noticing this. That led me check the logs of the CM1000 and I noticed a good amount of correctable and uncorrectable events across the channels. When I looked into the event log I saw a nonstop flip flop of Event Code 16 to Event code 24, back and forth on channel 37. After putzing around, I wanted to rule out my modem as having an issue, so I self activated my SB8200 (known good modem) and am using that now. Looking at the log now on the SB8200, it's all the same as I was seeing on the CM1000. Can someone smarter than me give a 10 ft view on what they think is going on, upstream noise at my node? Perhaps a nicked buried cable in my front yard?

Comcast Confusing Email- SB6183

I'm on the plan with up to 400mbps down and 10mbps up. I am using the SB6183 cable modem with a Netgear R6700AX router. My last speed test showed 440mbps down and 12mbps up. It showed a latency of 22. Seems like I'm getting all the speed I'm paying for. I got a confusing email from Comcast saying that I need to upgrade my cable modem to get full speed. Why would I need to replace my modem? Can somebody please explain this? Do I need to do anything? Thanks in advance. Becca

[NodePlus0] General Discussion of N+0 deployment activity

I would like to start a thread where we can keep track of the areas where Comcast has started deploying N+0 equipment. Earlier this year Comcast started pushing fiber deeper into the neighborhoods around me but close to 10 months after it was strung/buried it is still sitting unspliced and unlit. The comcast plant in my area is an old Adelphia region that is built on a 750MHz architecture so it's due for upgrade but it appears as if comcast is stalling on these upgrades for some reason. Has anyone else noticed any aggressive node splits and/or amplifier reduction in any other markets?

Packetloss an jitter on brand new line and brand new hardware.

Ok so I had a on-site tech visit from Comcast replace the main line from pole-to-house. Just today. Right before covid hit I had a on-site tech replace all the cables that feed in to the house with NEW RG6. So everything currently right now as I'm typing this from the POLE to my modem is pretty much ALL NEW so to speak. In between the Pole and modem. I have A MoCA filter installed by Comcast that is on the outside of house. it looks okay. Outside from the MoCA filter feeds main line in to house to a Extreme 2 Way HD Digital 1Ghz High Performance Coax Cable Splitter. "BDS102H" 5-1002 Mhz -3.5dB ... From there it splits to my modem and the other port goes to a 3 Way that feeds 3 cable boxes. I've gone threw 5 yes FIVE modems now and each one I have been getting intermittent internet loss "Packetloss" This intermittent packetloss makes VOIP calls, online games, and streaming movies a pain. The Event log errors I freq see in all of the modems I tried show below: 1. Dynamic Range Window violation, 2. RNG-RSP CCAP Commanded Power Exceeds Value Corresponding to the Top of the DRW, 3. Started Unicast Maintenance Ranging - No Response received - T3 time-out 4. REG-RSP-MP Mismatch Between Calculated Value for P1.6hi Compared to CCAP Provided Value; 5. Timing Synchronization failure - Loss of Sync 6. "Also: Sometimes Lots of Corrected and Uncorrectable errors." I know posting the modem log is helpful but I'm not sure if it really is as you can't see the CMTS upstream My downstream is avg 0 dbmv with a 40 avg SNR and the only thing I can read on upstream is PWR There are other signal stat figures that can't be read by the modem. (RX Power / SNR ch / ICFR) (Upstream Receive Power Level), (Upstream Signal To Noise Ratio), (In Channel Frequency Response) I think that might be my issue, but honestly IDK It's hard to explain this to my ISP with having them understand anything. I've read the normal upstream power should be around 35-45 dBmV and mine is at 48 and sometimes higher. If this is true, Is there a simple way I could maybe swap splitters or add something to lower my upstream power as I belive its too high. Could be the source of my problem here. "Commanded Power Exceeds Value Corresponding to the Top of the DRW" I've noticed other people posting Connection status of the upstream on here and other sites Most of the time the power levels I see other people post are all the same level on each different channels. To where mine is always 0.5 - 1.5 dBmV Higher in each separate channel, that does not seem normal to me. It does not seem what modem I'm using each one has the same result. I've tried cm700 T25 sb8600 sb8611 S33 I'm legit lost here on what to even do to resolve this. Brand new lines. Brand new modems. I've tried 3 different computers with NEW NICs (Realtek and Intel) on a Direct connection from Modem to PC only. This was all even tested on fresh installs of Windows as well to rule out the OS. I just can't understand this. High jitter and intermittent internet loss "Packetloss" on brand new coax from pole to modem and new equipment. What can I even do at this point. I've exhausted my support and resources and I really want this to be resolved.
