I’ve been salty that when the rest of the country’s 600 tier bumped to 800 this year, the West didn’t. 25 became 50 and 1000 became 1200. And that was it.
However, checking my account last night, it’s now says it’s at 800.
I don’t currently have anything wired at home so I can’t do a proper speed test.
Can anybody in the West on EP+ confirm they were bumped too and are seeing the increased speeds?

It appears Extreme Pro + in the West was just bumped to 800

Considering moving from Centurylink to Comcast ?? have questions
Hi all.
I haven’t been to this forum since is with @home… Anyway. Centurylink is building up fiber all around my area, but sadly, since I am not “new” construction, I do not have that option and even with a twisted pair My current speed w/o a data cap is 120/10. This used to be enough until my kids got older and starting doing online school, streaming videos, doing whatever it is kids do these days….
My current setup is the DSL modem is in bridged mode an all my networking equipment does the rest of the work.
So my questions are:
1. Looks like to avoid the 1.2TB data cap, you either need to rent an xfi modem @ $25.00 a month or pay $30.00 extra a month. - Is this correct?
2. If I get the xfi system whatever that fancy thing is (cable modem I assume), is there an option to run it just as a cable modem and turn off all the other fancy features?
3. Is the 1.4 down/35 up worth the cost and is there a way to bring the cost down at all?
4. Do the self install kits really work? We haven’t had cable in the house since 2003… so umm .. I have no idea how our cabling outside from the house to the comcast equipment is holding up.
5. Are the other tiers of speed good (from 400-800) for streaming 4K video, gaming, etc? Has anyone had issues when using a torrent service w/o vpn?

[OUTAGE] Does Comcast Report 100% Of Outages?
Whenever there is a drop in connectivity on Comcast’s side, does that always get posted as an outage? So, whenever you lose internet access (even for just a few minutes), if you see no outage reported, does that guarantee that the source of the outage is your home wiring or equipment?
My internet access seems to go out sporadically for anywhere from just a couple of minutes to up to 15 minutes or more and then eventually resolve itself. I’m trying to see if it is a local wiring or modem issue or if there are really this many mini outages that just aren’t being reported because they don’t meet some minimum length threshold for Comcast to bother reporting.

New to xfinity, can't quite reach gigabit
Hi all.
So after 20 years of Centurylink, I moved over to Comcast for the 1.2 down / 40up setup.
They hooked me up with a XB7 router.
I have the following setup XB7 (in bridge mode) > CAT6A > UDM-PRO and the best this man can get is about 930 down.. I've tried the 2.5g port (I couldn't find a configuration option in the XB7 web interface) and the results are the same. .. any ideas or should I just expect to keep getting 930 down?

Internet Speed Upgrade Question?
I am asking for a relative in western Michigan who currently has 200mb down and 10mb up but would like higher upload speeds. I see there is a plan with 800mb down and 20mb up, and also one with 1.2gb down and 35mb up, but I can't seem to locate any pricing information for those plans. I am trying to figure out how much their bill would increase if they went with one of those plans. How do you find the pricing for their plans, or alternately if anyone has done a speed increase recently can you tell me how much your bill increased? They also have TV service with Comcast as well, if that matters.

How can you check router?s WiFi speed?
I recently had 400Mbps Comcast Internet installed. My PC shows 480Mbp via an Ethernet connection so I know the router is getting the full speed output at a wired connection.
Initially the installation tech thought something was wrong with the modem/router because an internet speedtest with his phone was only indicating 40Mbps and that was near the modem/router.
My phone indicates about 50Mbps and so does a Chromebook. My tablet’s speedtest indicates 120Mbps.
But how do I check the modem/router’s WiFi’s speed output to make sure it’s operating at its maximum capability? How do I know if my tablet at 120Mbps is the weak link or if the modem/router is defective?
I know 2 people with 200Mbps Comcast & they get slightly more than that on their wireless devices so I know WiFi can go faster than what I’m getting. But how does one check a router’s WiFi speed?

[CDV] Grandma's voice service dropping out.
So a couple years ago my grandma switched her POTS phone line to Comcast to save money by bundling it with TV and Internet. At first we had issues with calls dropping intermittently (one or both parties can't hear the other). The first time we had a tech replace the drop to the house, which did nothing. It didn't get solved until I filed an FCC complaint on her behalf because phone reps are useless, and the techs we got couldn't figure out the issue. The executive relations rep I spoke to that time mentioned he saw an alarming amount of T3 timeouts on the modem log, and sent a more senior tech to check it out. We both agreed it had to be some sort of noise in the plant causing packet loss because comcast's voice server is essentially VOIP. After that it seems maintenance got involved and fixed the noise issue for a while.
Then last year it popped up again, I reached out to the folks over at comcast direct forum. They sent out a tech and then it went away for another while.
Now it's starting up again and it's starting to become a yearly headache. I just started up a smokeping session to her modem and we'll see what that shows. Meanwhile, I have attached the modem signal levels and correctable/uncorrectable count.
My grandma is at the medically fragile age of 86 and she relies on her landline phone to connect with family, so I am looking for some advice on what to do based on these signal levels.
Unfortunately she's still contract with her bundle. If this keeps happening and Comcast can't seem to provide a long term fix, we will have to seek an alternative service. So a couple of questions I have is:
Would it be possible to get someone at comcast to let her transfer phone service to something else despite being under contract, given we keep running into this issue?
Assuming I can't get this fixed long term, and they let her drop the phone service from them, would such packet loss / plant noise issues cause the same problems if I were to get her something like Ooma?
Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.
Edit: uncorrectable section got cut off. Attached the full screenshot

[Rant] Xb7
Anyone else here using the xb7 that experience the device rebooting every 3 days? And I also feel like I have to have the modem reprovisioned every 3 weeks because for whatever reason my router won't pick up an ip address from it, this is my 3rd xb7 giving me the same issues
Every time it's disconnected me was like the day I leave for a weekend, so its completely out of my control, cannot reboot it cannot do anything because I'm not home, and it always happens on day 1 leaving.

Uploads speed goes from 40mbps to 3 - 4 mbps randomly
Modem: CM2000
connection type: Wired
i pay for the 35 upload stream and i receive about 40 - 45 usually but very randomly my upload speed drops to like 3 - 5 mb. it can be for a few seconds or a few minutes (5 - 30 min)
the original tech added a splitter near my modem because he said the power outside is too high so he added a -3.5db splitter
i have a tech visit coming up soon and wanted to know if there is anything i should bring up to the tech or ask him what to do. i can't really read event logs on my modem by the first two on top is around when the issue happened. maybe 2 minutes before the issue happened

[Speed] Upload Speeds
Why does Xfinity have such garbage upload speeds? I get 942mb download, but only 18mb upload. Why so low? Is it because Xfinity is cable and only fiber offers higher upload speeds?

Comcast Confusing Email- SB6183
I'm on the plan with up to 400mbps down and 10mbps up. I am using the SB6183 cable modem with a Netgear R6700AX router. My last speed test showed 440mbps down and 12mbps up. It showed a latency of 22. Seems like I'm getting all the speed I'm paying for. I got a confusing email from Comcast saying that I need to upgrade my cable modem to get full speed. Why would I need to replace my modem? Can somebody please explain this? Do I need to do anything? Thanks in advance. Becca

Upload speed question
I have 1200/35 with CM8200A LAG enabled to RT-AX88U WAN Aggregation enabled. My upload from a speedtest always starts at 10+/20+ Mbps then slowly climbs to 40Mbps at the end. The uplink light on my modem is green instead of blue. Do I need a different modem in order to get a more consistent upload speed?

Chicago area # of channels
Just out of curiosity... am I interpreting this correctly? According to my modem information, channel 4 is locked onto channel ID 45. Does that mean Comcast has 45 channels in my area?

[Equip] XB7 - Voiding a DHCP Lease on a Local Device
I've got an XB7 gateway. I use DHCP on all of the local devices in the house. One of my set-top TV boxes is connected to the gateway via an Ethernet cable and, as expected, the associated MAC address is listed on the gateway GUI's "Connected Devices > Devices" page. However, said set-top box's WiFi MAC address is also shown on said page (albeit with an "RSSI Level" value of "undefined dBm".
How do I remove said WiFi lease from the system?
TIA!
