Cable not working (technical)

I am having trouble with my modem connecting to the internet after moving the cable to a different part of the house. I have a coaxial cable running in my attic that is the only source for my cable internet. For a long time I have had the modem (Netgear CM500) plugged directly into that cable. I ran the cable through the attic to a different wall. If I plug the modem directly into the cable everything works fine(but this mean I have a cable hanging out of a hole in my wall and a modem hanging from that. If I connect the wall cable to anything ( coupler, or wall port) and then run a cable to my modem it will not work. I have tried two couplers and a wall port. If there is anything between the wall cable and the modem it won’t work. The cable in the wall is an RG6 750HM and the cable I’m connecting to it is a RG6U 750HM. Is there a reason these two would not work together?
