Running DirecTV and Comcast signal on the same line

I've look up some posts with similar situations and I was a bit confused by all the information, so I wanted to post my specific situation so I can get one simplified answer, and it should be a simple one, and I understand a diplexer is probably all I should need but I want the explanation of the application. Basically I have a feed that runs from the outside where all the feeds meet into a room and I want to use my DirecTV and Comcast feed (Comcast used for internet only) over that same line, so I can run my directv receiver and Comcast modem off that same feed. So outside I have the Comcast feed running directly to whatever line/room the modem is in (switch it around from time to time) and the directv feed is on a 4 way splitter, and the first slot of the splitter always have to have the receiver on it with the SWiM unit to power the satellite, and that is the feed that I want to run both signal through. Its probably a lot simpler than I made it sound but I just need to know what additional hardware I need and where to put it? Thanks ahead.
