About two months ago I purchased a Motorola SB1641 to replace the old Cisco modem that I was renting from Comcast. Unfortunately, I started having major buffering issues, making video streaming on Netflix (or other services) virtually impossible. Sometimes I can get good download speeds (e.g., on bittorrent), but other times they are terrible (I just got 1.11 Mbps on my last speed test). I have contacted Comcast a few times without getting much help. I am noticing some error messages in the modem's logs, so I wonder if those could help pinpoint the issue. I'm going to include more detailed information below, and would really sincerely appreciate any help that can be offered, because this is extremely frustrating.

3) Is the issue intermittent, constant or does it occur at a specific time of day? The issue is pretty much constant. Every now and then I can watch something successfully, but more often than not my speed is awful.

NOTE: This issue did not happen with my old rented Cisco modem, so I'm wondering what the issue with this brand new highly-rated modem is.
5) Describe any home networking if applicable. I have a Trendnet wireless router. I have never had any issues with the router, and the speed issues still occur even if I hook up directly to the modem.
6) List any firewall and/or anti-virus software you have installed. N/A. For what it's worth, I'm running a combination of Mac OSX and Linux.
In my phone conversations with Comcast they said that everyone looked good from their end, but I am picking up error messages quite frequently.
