[AV] Comcast ver. of Norton 360 problem. "Activate message pops up"

Turned on my pc last night and got a message that I had to Activate the Norton software. I have a desktop and laptop pc. This is only happening on the desktop. Now,,, both the laptop and desktop versions of Norton were installed from Comcast website on the same day. Is there a problem with Norton? Maybe malware or a virus??? My first thought was to use the Norton Power Eraser to check for a virus then use the Norton uninstall tool to remove all Norton stuff and then re-install. Last resort was to call or chat on-line with Comcast. last time I contacted Comcast I had a nervous breakdown!!! LOLOL Your thoughts about the problem???
