I've been trying to get my Motorola SBG6580 in Bridge mode. After researching, it seems that the instructions for putting it in bridge mode on the 6.5.0.0 software version is to simply DISABLE NAPT Mode. I did this, apply and the device reboots.
When it comes back to life, I remote back into the interface and NAPT is disabled but I get network access denied and I'm stuck with a flashing internet/globe light on the modem. I give it like an hour or so to just sit and wait for a signal. I give up, do a factory reset with the button on the back and it still won't connect. I know that it was reset because the WiFi SSID is now showing as opposed to when I disabled it earlier.
I let it sit overnight and this morning it's still not connecting. Comcast rep says that it can't be seen on their end. Refresh signals don't do anything. I'm wondering if the modem is bad? It was working perfectly fine until I disabled NAPT mode.
Any suggestions? I was considering the SB6141 as a replacement modem. This way, I can attached my D-Link DIR655 router.
Thanks for any help
