I'm not having a noticeable problem, but am curious why RTT and RTTsd times are so much higher for IPv6 vs IPv4.

[Caps] Have your 2 courtesy months reset for 2018?
According to Comcast, you get 2 courtesy months for every 12-months. I called and was told this resets in the beginning on each year. So its 2018 but I don't see my courtesy month resetting.
Does anyone know what is going on with this? Did your courtesy months reset?
Thanks.

[Speed] Xfinity Blast before/after speed test
I have the regular Blast tier internet. Before the speed increase advertised by Xfinity I was getting ~90 Mbps/10 Mbps. After a complete power off/on of my modem I'm now getting ~95 Mbps/10 Mbps during off peak hours. I have tested this from two different wired devices with 1 Gb network interfaces.
Should I even pursue this with Xfinity? I guess this is technically "up to" 100 Mbps.

Minor Speed Increase in Minneapolis
Received an email today from Comcast letting me know that they increased my 55Mbps Performance Plus plan to 60Mbps! This may be the smallest percentage increase I have seen, oh well.
It looks like Performance Plus and Blast Pro might have been increased as well. Performance Pro is 150 and Blast Pro is 250, but I'm unsure of what they used to be.

[Mobile] "Xfinity Mobile" wireless service
As mentioned in this recent DSLR news item https://www.dslreports.com/shownews/Comcast-Prepares-For-Mid2017-Wireless-Service-Launch-139048 , Comcast is planning a mid-year launch of their wireless service.
Comcast announced today that they will be providing the details on this new service on Thursday:
Comcast to Host Analyst Event to Discuss Launch of Mobile Initiative
Comcast press release, Business Wire - April 3, 2017
http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20170403005198/en/Comcast-Host-Analyst-Event-Discuss-Launch-Mobilequote:On Thursday, April 6, 2017, Comcast will host an analyst event to discuss the details of its previously announced mobile initiative, which utilizes an existing MVNO agreement. Senior members of the Comcast leadership team will participate in the event. ...There is also this FierceCable article today about it:
Comcast sets Thursday meeting with investors to discuss wireless launch
By Daniel Frankel, FierceCable - April 3, 2017
http://www.fiercecable.com/cable/comcast-sets-thursday-meeting-investors-to-discuss-wireless-launchquote:Some of the telecom industry’s most closely guarded secrets could finally be revealed Thursday, when Comcast hosts what it calls an “analyst event to discuss the details of its previously announced mobile initiative.”
:
Comcast confirmed plans to launch a wireless service combining the strengths of its vast Wi-Fi network and its MVNO deal with Verizon back in September. The launch has been slated for sometime later this year.
:
Last week, FierceWireless reported that Comcast is quietly partnering with Apple as it prepares to launch wireless service under the brand Xfinity Mobile: http://www.fiercewireless.com/wireless/comcast-quietly-taps-iphone-ahead-launch-xfinity-mobile
The cable giant’s name has been added to behind-the-scenes - but publicly available - code that lists carrier bundles for the iPhone. The list of carrier bundles is used by iTunes and iPhones to determine whether the iPhone’s SIM is supported by a service provider with whom Apple has an agreement, then provisions the phone accordingly.
The iPhone's latest list of carrier bundles includes "Verizon_Comcast_LTE_US," and mentions the service "Xfinity Mobile." A source pointed out the reference to FierceWireless, and a different source with knowledge of the matter confirmed that Comcast has indeed partnered with Apple ahead of the launch of Xfinity Mobile. [Speed] Speed issues with Zoom 5341J
I'm on the Blast Pro tier, and noticed that speeds were bumped up to 250Gb/sec recently. I went to try and speed test and found that I can't get in excess of 100Gb/sec on my modem.
I completed a reset of the modem, and grabbed the logs. Verified via the logs that the modem does have the blast pro configuration being pushed to it. I've also attached the attenuation statistics. Any ideas why I'm not receiving full speed? Has the modem gone bad?
Thanks

Courtesy month data reset 3rd time in 12-month, banned for life?
My understanding is that you got 2 courtesy months in a year( 12-months) if you went over on the 3rd month, they would charge you. You would then need to wait either 12- calendar months or 12-rolling month without a data over 1TB for this to reset.
However someone has suggested that if you go over the 3rd month in a 12-month period, then you are banned from receiving additional courtesy month for life. So not in 12-months, not in 12-years, not in 120 years, for life, banned from ever receiving another courtesy month.
Keep in mind this could be going over as much as 1kb, or the data in a text message.
" If you use more than a terabyte two times or less in a 12-month period, your courtesy month balance will reset to two at the end of these 12 months. However, if you use more than a terabyte three times in a 12-month period, no more courtesy months will be given"
So " no more courtesy month will be given" ( that year) or ( even) ?
Seem like a few extra words at the end could clarify exactly what they mean.
Does anyone know for sure.
My answers from comcast have range from " there is no 12-month reset, to resetting each calendar year, to resetting each rolling 12-months, to resetting at the end of January 2018( and every new year),etc... They are all over the world. You can't get a straight answer of their reps on this.
So lifetime ban or 12-month ban if you exceed 2 courtesy months in 12-months?
Thanks.

[Connectivity] Can?t get past walled garden
Cancelled Comcast digital voice today today and then bought a Netgear CM 1000. Went to activate it via walled garden. Got error message. Called Comcast and spent half hour on the phone and the operator had to put in a trouble ticket. He said it wouldn’t activate because the phone takes 24 hours to deactivate.
The modem is showing up on my account but I’m still getting the walled garden. Any advice.

Why not buy Comcast's stock and profit with them?
If everyone hates Comcast so much because they're greedy, deceptive, and they're about to make more money now that net neutrality is dead, why not buy their stocks?
This is a serious question.

[Plan] Side Discussion on DOCSIS 3.1 Gigabit service
Mod Note: This topic started as "XI Gigabit DOCSIS 3.1 - data cap with 3-year agreement?" It has become a general discussion of this deployment, hence the title change. uid://455626
If you actually have had this service installed, the stickied report topic is here. > https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r30960001-Speed-Report-DOCSIS-3-1-Gigabit-Service-Here If you report, please include info requested in the first post and keep that topic strictly on topic. Thanks, sortofageek
The XI Gigabit DOCSIS 3.1 is now available in my area. I am tempted to sign up. Early reports said unlimited data with a 3-year agreement. The Comcast website says nothing but the typical disclaimer about the data usage plan. I don't want to sign a 3-year agreement for a plan with a data cap. Does anyone know if the XI Gigabit service is subject to the data usage nonsense?

[Signals] Coaxial Cable
I know a lot of problems in signals can be caused by things such as loose connectors, but I also noticed when Comcast installs cabling they do it so its impossible to disconnect. Do they use a wrench or a special tool? Is finger tight enough? Additionally, I am still having a problem with the 16th DS channel near RF Channel 17. I know ingress issues can be a real PITA if that is the issue.

[Other] Xfinity cablem modems just started calling home to google ?
Hi,
newby to this forum. I like to think I'm a bit of a geek and I like my privacy. I also like to think my system is fairly well instrumented so a couple days ago when I saw part of the system reporting odd traffic to google, which I dont use, to the point of having it firewalled, I decided to peer deeper into this since I thought I must have left a security hole open somewhere. The packets in question happen very often, every few minutes which is what caught my attention. After putting sniffers of every interface I determined _none_ of this traffic was inside my firewall, it appeared to be at the cable modem (I said I was instrumented but I wont say here exactly how I came to this conclusion...). I did some tests to make sure this was not a quirk. I power cycled modem and the traffic came right back. I then forced the internet IP to change a couple times and the traffic came back again. The Google IP in question is fixed for me but appears to be probably geolocated based on of IPs in the block so I wont post it here but it is in this block that the call to google is headed.
NetRange: 74.125.0.0 - 74.125.255.255
CIDR: 74.125.0.0/16
NetName: GOOGLE
Since I log all traffic on the network I was able to determine when this first started to happen. It started Dec 14 right after the FCC votes to repeal net neutrality. I find that interesting. I am going to try the same monitoring on some other peoples cable connections and if I confirm what I suspect, well bad to be these guys. I wonder if googlespygate.com is available.
So first look says to me Xfinity turned on some direct logging from peoples cable modemds to google once the Net rules were repealed.
WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THIS XFINITY ?

[Speed] Slow upload speeds
Since yesterday afternoon I've noticed my upload speed has been crippled. Speed tests give me anywhere between 0.5-2Mbps. Modem signals look the same as they have been for the past couple months, few to no uncorrectables. Signals have always been hot, but never had an issue before. I tried adding a splitter just for testing purposes, but it made no difference. Also tested through router w/ PC wired, laptop wired, phone wireless; PC and laptop direct wire to modem.
200/10 plan in southern NH. A typical speedtest would show 240/11.
Modem SB6183
I don't think this is anything on my end as I see no change (modem-wise). I'm curious if anyone else in the region is seeing speed issues.

[E-mail] Doesn't Security Assur respond to phishing reports any longer?
Does anyone know if Comcast Security Assurance has stopped acknowledging phishing email reports, please ? It used to be that when one sent the phishing email with full headers to abuse (at) Comcast.net that one would receive notification within a few hours/days that YES -- it was confirmed phishing.
I'm now longer receiving that and wonder if they're actually receiving the reports.
Some cute scammer is (again) sending me my very own Comcast invoice(s). Last month, I got three -- different invoice numbers and sent by different individuals, lol. This is today's batch:
https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r31461881-Phish-Phish-Comcast-subscribers
Anyway - just wondering if Security Assurance IS still responding to the reports. Thanks in advance !
EDIT TO ADD: Hmm, since my original post yesterday, I have now received the "verified as phishing" from Security Assurance like they used to do. Thanks to any CC employee saw this and got it resolved.
