Just found the reason why as of yesterday my profiles were being blocked for some unknown reason. Turns out, with some update they pushed yesterday, the times entered for a profile's downtime schedules are in GMT and NOT your local timezone.
As a workaround, adjust your start/stop times to accommodate your offset from GMT and it'll be back to normal. Annoying, but only thing that'll fix it until they fix this xFi software bug. I have an XB7, not sure if it affects other devices.

Does Comcast mark their underground cables?
I have an underground hardline cable feeding a pedestal, as well as a drop cable, on my property. Does Comcast normally mark their cables when requested via the state (Michigan) digging notification service? If not, how do I convince them to do it?

Comcast to AT&T Plex Streaming Reliability?
I just moved into a building that only has service from Comcast. Previously I had Sonic VDSL2 service 110/60. For years I've run a Plex server. One friend has AT&T 1000/1000 fiber and they'd stream 20Mbps 1080p videos from my Plex server without buffering. Now that I'm on Comcast 1000/35, even with nothing else happening on the network, it seems to struggle to provide a reliable stream to the AT&T connection.
Have others noticed a choke point in the peering between Comcast and AT&T? Or is the paltry Comcast upload just not enough for what I was doing on my VDSL connection?

I can't see my Data Usage anymore
I used to be able to see my monthly Data Usage automatically when I clicked onto Manage Internet, 3 months or so used to show up with an option to view previous months Data Usage, now nothing is showing. Now there is something I can click onto that says View Data Usage but when I click onto it nothing happens.

MB8600 exhibiting IPv4 connectivity issues after firmware update
I have read the few threads on this forum from 2018 about the MB8600's IPv4 stack dying out after some time, and did not see any firm resolution given on the matter.
We have had an MB8600 in use since April 2020 and it worked without trouble until this January. I noticed one day that the modem reset and has firmware 8600-19.3.15 / Prod_19.3_d31 from Comcast. Since the time of that reset, the modem has been unstable, exhibiting issues very much like what was previously described. I run a Ubiquiti router and route both IPv4 and IPv6 and when the modem gets into the bad state, only IPv6 continues to work.
Like some other folks experiencing this trouble, the only way to solve it is to restart the modem. I cannot connect to the modem's web interface.
Could the firmware update be responsible for this, or was it possibly an unrelated trigger (modem reset) that brought a latent problem to life?

IPv6 not working on VLANs
So I just got a Cisco RV345 router, with a Netgear R7000 acting as the WI-FI AP. When everything is running on one VLAN, IPv6 works just fine, but once I put the AP on its own VLAN it doesn't.
Currently, Comcast is giving me a v6 address with a /64 prefix. I know that if I want IPv6 to work I need at least a prefix size of /60, but there doesn't appear to be a setting to give a prefix hint. There's a button to enable DHCP-PD and assign it a name, though.
So, is Comcast just not giving out /64 prefixes to residential customers anymore or is the router not able to give prefix hints?

Performance starter
I'm in the Boston market and Performance starter is $49.95. I can't find the speed for this level. It used to be 10Mbs but I heard it is now 25Mbps. Does anyone know? 25 is enough for me these days.
I would have gone to this in the past but it had a cap. Now that all tiers have a cap I want to try this.
Can I use my own modem on this tier?
Thanks

[Connectivity] Is OFDM used even if you have sub-gig package?
Just wondering if the DOCSIS 3.1 OFDM is actually used if you do not have gigabit service. On a Comcast forum thread, I said it should be, but somebody said he had been told it's only used for gig speed. Anyone have a definitive answer?

[Rant] Comcast Horrible Backup Power/Connectivity
It appears during the Texas rotating outages comcast cannot keep their infrastructure up. This is insane, battery backups seemed to last about 5 hours... pathetic. How are they meeting FCC mandate for telephony? The fact that grid power outages took down the system is disturbing and frankly unacceptable in a hurricane prone region. This is in an area without line damage or other infrastructure harm caused by the weather. Just flat power outages with zero reliability, once we rotated back onto the grid, the internet magically came back. We have a genset so we stayed up

[NEWS] Extreme Pro 600 speed increase to Extreme Pro 800 in March.
Customers who subscribe to Extreme Pro will get a boost from 600 Mbps to 800 Mbps sometime before March 31.
So 800mbps plan with 21% overhead will be 968mbps which maxes out Gigabit ethernet.
Also mentions gigabit speed increase to 1.2gbps like Northeast.

[Caps] Comcast Postpones Northeast Data Caps until 2022?
Sorry if this is old news, but I didn't see anything posting. Checking my data usage under 'Devices' on my account page and I noticed there was no longer a reference to the 1.2 TB limit. There was also a new message:
Xfinity Internet Data Plan: We are delaying implementation of our data plan in our Northeast markets until 2022. We recognize that our data plans were new for our customers in the Northeast, and while only a very small percentage of customers would be affected by the plan, we are providing them with more time to become familiar with their data usage
Sounds like July 2021 is now Jan 2022 (or later?)

[Price] Retention deals for areas with new fiber competition
My in-laws are off-promo with their Xfinity Internet service, but their neighborhood is starting to get fiber service rolled out by a competitor. Was planning to talk to Xfinity's loyalty department, bringing up the new fiber alternatives and see if they'd offer a lower rate if we threaten to cancel. Has anyone tried that lately with any success? It sounds like Xfinity's loyalty reps can't offer 'save' discounts anymore, but wanted to check before going down that road.

[Equip] XB7 Technicolor CGM4331COM/Arris TG4482 - Wireless AX(Wi-Fi 6)
Looks like a new xfinity gateway passed through testing. No idea if it's going to be called the XB6 still, probably XB7 or something. Model number seems to be CGM4331COM. The test report mentions that it has 802.11ax. Looks like this unit may only have 4 antennas(4x4 AX on both bands). The current XB6 are a 2x2 N 2.4 GHz + 8x8 AC 5 GHz design(I believe it has a total of 12 antennas as a result).
See -
https://fcc.io/G95/4331X
Submitted shortly before it, are two other Technicolor devices called the XHR1-TC and the XHU1-TC. The XHU1-TC might be something like the current XB6 power supply, but upgraded? Its description is listed as "LTE power supply." The XHR1-TC is listed as a Zigbee repeater.
No idea if this will have a fan, but the label does say 12V/4.6A, so 55.2 watts, so I guess it will. The original Technicolor XB6(CGM4140COM) had a 60 watt power supply.
Edit: Changed title to reflect XB7
Edit2: Title updated again to mention Arris version if it arrives.

XB6 in Bridge Mode
Hi,
I currently use an MB7621 for my cable modem. I have switched out XFinity TV for AT&T TV streaming - which will require a switch to unlimited data. Now, I could add this to my current plan for 30 - or switch to a Comcast-owned modem for 25.
I've had bad experiences in the past with Comcast-owned modems in bridge mode - they used to have a nasty habit of popping out of bridge mode on occasion, hosing everything up.
So, my question: If you use an XB6 in Bridge mode, how is it? Does it honestly disable all the wifi (even hidden APs?) Wireless environment in my building is super-congested. Does it retain the setting, or will I have to call in every 6 months to re-set it?

[Speed] Comcast Upload Update?
Alright, so I remember that roughly one year ago, Comcast stated that increased upload speeds were coming in "2017." (https://www.dslreports.com/shownews/Comcast-Promises-Faster-Upstream-Speeds-Next-Year-137992)
I personally don't care if this increase comes in the form of DOCSIS 3.1, Full Duplex DOCSIS 3.1 (which is still undergoing spec to my knowledge - so I expect this is not the most immediate solution), mid, or high split.
Has anyone seen updates on these phantom upload speed increases?
Some more sources:
http://www.lightreading.com/cable/docsis/comcast-hints-strongly-at-upstream-mid-split/d/d-id/715771 (Ha! This was over two years ago! Riiight...)

https://www.dslreports.com/shownews/Comcast-Symmetrical-Cable-Broadband-Coming-in-Next-24-Months-139090
I know the year is not over yet, and it's not like Comcast actually follows through with their time schedules, but it seems like a lot of "upload-to-the-press" to me. Just seeing if anyone has heard something new that I haven't.

[Connectivity] How are my modem connection stats?
Hi everyone!
Intro
I live in Connecticut and sub for Performance Pro (300/12mbps).
I've had on-again off-again issues with Comcast over the years. After my latest spat with them, I got a 3rd level technician to stop by. Another tech had padded the termination from the pole to my property due to "interference coming from the property." This was taken care of and restored (padding removed).
Something the technician said that triggered alarms for me, along the lines of: "Wow these signals from the amp are screaming, and the signals at the junction are way out of whack, as well as down the street." He put in a work order for the amp, and a tech was working on that the same day.
I've always had high power levels which I attributed to living close to the amp. But I've also had error logs full of T3 timeouts and other errors.
Setup/Configuration
- From the amp to the junction in front of the house is about 50'. From the junction to the house is about 75'.
- The feed from the junction leads to a 2-way splitter with -3.5dB on the legs. One path feeds the cable TVs in the home, and the other leg leads straight to a -6dB FPA directly on the modem (Netgear CM150V)--RG6 btw. The FPA is needed as without any attenuator my power levels exceed +10dB and problems occur. Without an attenuator my upstream power levels are already +42dB.
- From the modem is a straight path to my router (ASUS RT-AC86U).

Modem Stats / Event Log
I'm paranoid, so do things look normal? Does anything seem out of whack? Is there anything I should nag Comcast about? I can post an updated image later as uncorrectables pop up, but with the FPA that doesn't appear to be an issue anymore. I do not know my uSNR, upstream receive power, or IFCR yet.
